OPM Songs, MP3 OPM, OPM Music, etc.

April 29th, 2006

Original Pilipino Music (frequently abbreviated to OPM) originally referred only to Filipino pop songs, especially those in the ballad form; such as songs popularized by major and commercial Filipino Pop artists like Ryan Cayabyab, Sharon Cuneta, Martin Nievera, Rey Valera, and APO Hiking Society. In the passage of time as well as the development of many diverse musical styles in the Philippines, however, the term OPM now refers to any type of music produced in the Philippines or composed by Filipinos, regardless of their location during the time when they composed it. The lyrics may be in any language.

One may further classify OPM into more specific genres which include Filipino Rock, Filipino Pop, Filipino Jazz, Filipino Rap / Hip hop, and Filipino Folk / Ethnic.

Honda Civic 2006

April 15th, 2006

honda civic 2006 Designed as an “Advanced Personal Compact,” the next-generation Si will incorporate flowing bodywork, a steeply angled windshield, and wide stance to suggest stability and forward motion. The new Si will be the fastest and most powerful Civic offered in its twenty-year history. The 2006 Civic lineup, launching this fall, will include a 4-door Sedan, a 2-door Coupe and Si Coupe, an even more fuel efficient Civic Hybrid and a natural-gas powered Civic GX.

The Civic Si Concept builds on its performance heritage with a 200-horsepower, 16-valve, and DOHC i-VTEC engine with an 8,000-rpm red line, mated to a close ratio 6-speed manual transmission. Helping to put all that power to the ground is a helical-type limited slip differential for improved launch traction and cornering performance. A 200-horsepower 16-valve i-VTEC engine powers the 2006 Si. Honda sources indicate that next-generation i-VTEC technology will have significant gains in performance and fuel economy. A six-speed transmission will give drivers manual control of shift points up to the engine’s redline of 8000 rpm, and a helical-type limited-slip differential will enhance traction and cornering ability.

What is VoIP?

April 15th, 2006

VoIP means “Voice over IP” and it is quite simply a way of utilizing the Internet for telephone conversations. The primary motivations for doing so are cost and convenience as VoIP is significantly less expensive than typical telephone long distance packages, plus one high speed Internet connection can serve for multiple phone lines. VoIP may also allow you to make a call directly from a computer using a conventional telephone or a microphone.

How Can I Place a VoIP Call?
Depending on the service, one way to place a VoIP call is to pick up your phone and dial the number, using an adaptor that connects to your existing high-speed Internet connection. When placing a VoIP call using a phone with an adapter, you’ll hear a dial tone and dial just as you always have. The phone call goes over the Internet to the called party’s local telephone company for the completion of the call.

The Old World Charm of Ilocos

April 15th, 2006

In old times, Ilocandia has been described as a God-forsaken land because of its arid and difficult terrain. But the hardy people of this province had the patience and the will to survive, and eventually turned it into a lush and abundant highland. Amidst all these is a rich history consisting of legendary uprisings, monumental edifices, and noble men and women who has made Ilocos a unique and remarkable place that it is today.

Vigan is a sleepy town at the heart of Ilocos Sur. It’s easy to find your way around because the people are friendly and warm to visitors. At the center of the town is Plaza Salcedo erected in honor of Juan Salcedo who named this place Ciudad Fernandina after King Ferdinand of Spain. Right across the plaza is the St. Paul’s Cathedral built in 1641 and which came under the Diocese of Nueva Segovia in 1758.

Chronicles of Narnia

April 15th, 2006

Nominated for three Academy Awards, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe follows on the heels of recent successful big screen adaptations of other childrens’ fantasy novels such as The Lord of the Rings books and the Harry Potter series. But while each of these series feature underlying tones of Christian symbolism, The Chronicles of Narnia is overtly intended as a Christian allegory. Written by the brilliant 20th Century Oxford and Cambridge literature professor C.S. Lewis, the Narnia stories were a tribute to his deep Christian faith. And this big screen transition is something of which he can be proud. Directed by Andrew Adamson, veteran director of the Shrek franchise, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe is a master blend of traditional human acting and computer generated imagery.

The film follows the exploits of the four Pevensie children, two brothers and two sisters. Set during the early years of World War II, their mother sends them away to the countryside in order to escape the relentless Nazi bombing raids on London. Left to their own devices in the cavernous mansion of Professor Kirke (Jim Broadbent), they engage in a traditional game of hide-and-seek, whereupon the youngest of children, Lucy (Georgie Henley) crawls into a lone wardrobe stationed in an otherwise empty room. Backing her way through the garments, she stumbles into a wintry wonderland where she encounters a faun named Mr. Tumnus (James McAvoy).

Causes and Cures for Acne

April 15th, 2006

Teens are not the only ones prone to developing breakouts in their lifetime. Bodybuilders and even adults are now finding themselves washing their faces three or four times a day to try ridding themselves of the horrible phenomena known as acne. This article will explain the basics of acne and give you cost-cutting information for those wanting to have clearer skin. You will learn what acne is, how it is formed, and common topicals, cleansers, and supplements used to fight it.

Millions of people suffering from acne want to know one question, “How are these stupid zits formed anyways?” One major cause of acne is an over production of an oil known as sebum. This oil is combined with dead skin cells, causes the oil to be contained within your hair follicles, and causes acne. Another reason you may have acne is that acne problems are genetical. This means that if your parents had acne, then chances are good that you have had or will have acne problems as well. You can take healthy steps to achieving clearer skin by shaving every day, washing your face more often, watching your diet, and using topicals, cleaners, and supplements to help clear your acne.

What are Blogs Anyway?

April 15th, 2006

You’ve probably heard people talking about their “blogs” and using terms like “I was blogging about it”. So for the uninitiated what is a blog and how do you use one?

Blog is short for weB LOG and is really an online diary. The term weblog first appeared around 1997 and it was the next step in online technology from the “personal” webpage. (As with any relatively new term there still remains some disagreement on what is and what isn’t a blog and when it first appeared). It allowed people to update more easily and more frequently than a traditional webpage without having to learn any complicated coding. From just a couple of people linking to sites they liked and “blogging” about their lives, there was an almost overnight blog explosion, with the result that today there are literally millions of blogs from all corners of the world. Most blogs are focused around some kind of specific theme or topic, but some are just a mix of everything !

As humans we seem to be compelled to share information, sometimes for the right reasons sometimes for purely egotistical reasons. Having a blog makes it easy to share this information and because people can choose which blogs to read and keep up with you can often create a very loyal audience. While blogs initially started out on a more personal level, increasingly people are starting to use them as a business tool, in conjunction with their website.

Easter Egg Hunt

April 12th, 2006

If you want to have a ball this year then consider throwing an Easter egg hunt. There is no better way to get the whole family together and enjoying the holidays like they should. This type of fun will ensure that all of the kids will have more fun than they have ever had before.

If you want to plan the best possible Easter egg hunt you should consider getting everyone that you know involved. Talk to your family members, especially the ones who have kids, along with all of your friends. Try to arrange it so that you can all get your kids to participate in the Easter egg hunt. This will make it a thousand times more fun.

For generations children have been playing and having fun in Easter egg hunts and there is no reason why your family cannot do the same thing. This is one of the finest of all family Easter traditions. Your Easter egg hunt can have real eggs or candy eggs; it does not matter.

Many people choose to spend the night before Easter dying and decorating all kind of Easter eggs with the kids. (www.youreaster.com/eggs/dyeeastereggs/) This makes for a wonderful holiday craft that everyone can enjoy. These eggs can them be placed all around the yard or park, depending on where you choose to have the Easter egg hunt.

What we do in my family is hide real eggs outside for the kids to hunt for and at the end of the Easter egg hunt these eggs get traded for candy. This way no candy gets dirty or wasted and if some eggs get left behind it is not a big deal. The best part though is coloring the eggs together the night before. This is a fantastic together time that you just would not have if you used candy eggs for the Easter egg hunt.

After the Easter egg hunt you can arrange for a wonderful brunch for all of the participants - kids and adults alike. Everyone can then discuss what a great time they had during the hunt and how to make it even better the next year. Easter egg hunts are something that everyone can enjoy and no one will ever regret having. It is a fun and easy idea that will be remembered for years. Just remember to take your camera!
