The camp of deposed President Joseph Estrada has decided to upload the controversial “newsreel” entitled “Ang Mabuhay para sa Masa” on Estrada’s site erap.ph. This after the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) gave it an X-rating. Since then the site has used up all its allocated bandwidth and had to rely on a mirror site.

Last night’s episode pruned the 40 contestants down to 24 aspiring individuals. What’s a judge got to do when you’re to choose among an extremely talented bunch? Perhaps it all boils down to who has both talent and looks (or at least who is presentable). 12 boys and 12 girls make up the final 24.

According to Ethel Ramos of Malaya and a report from TV Patrol World, Kaye Abad will indeed be on the cover of Maxim Philippines this September.
Kaye, who has a slimmer figure now, admitted she has agreed to go sexy on the cover of Maxim Magazine, the same magazine which featured fellow Star Magic talent Angelica Panganiban in her first daring pictorial.
Kaye said she felt that if Angelica, who is 19, can do it why can’t she. The 24-year-old admitted that she’s on a diet. She only eats tuna with a small slice of bread. She has also been doing workouts for at least two weeks.

Idol fans got their chance to check out the competition on last Sunday’s episode of Philippine Idol on ABC 5 which featured the first part of the theater eliminations.
Gold Passers from the Mindanao and Visayas auditions met up with their fellow Luzon Gold Passers at the Bayview Hotel along Roxas Boulevard. Those from the south took the ferry while those from northern Luzon took the half day’s trip to Manila by bus. Despite being tired from their travel each and everyone was bubbling with excitement and nervousness. They were, of course, excited that they were one more step closer to realizing their idol dreams but also very nervous especially when they got to know the other contestants better. The Gold Passers were given a sumptuous welcome dinner where they got the chance to relax and meet new friends.

Massive oil spill could get much worse without urgent help to lift a stricken tanker, still loaded with fuel, off the ocean floor.
The spill, which has already devastated nature sites and covered miles of coastline in black sludge, has been caused by only a fraction of the oil on the doomed Solar I seeping out of the ship’s hold, officials said.
“We cannot just sit and wait,” said Lieutenant-Commander Joseph Coyme, spokesman for the Philippine coastguard. He said the spill could not be cleaned up for the moment and called raising the vessel the “foremost priority.”

The largest city in the world is the location of the final leg of the first round of auditions for Philippine Idol. The Waterfront Hotel in Davao City was filled to the roof with over a thousand Idol wannabees waiting for their once-in-a-lifetime chance at Idol Stardom. But the scene was not limited to local talents as applicants who didn’t make it in Luzon and Cebu still lined up to try their luck one last time.
Downpour of Talent Down South
So determined were the Davao applicants to sing for the Philippine Idol judges that the heavy downpour was not enough to turn them away. The auditions went right on despite lightning and thunder that could be heard outside the walls of the audition room.
