Popular tour guide, artist and commercial model Carlos Celdran was freed Friday after his family posted a 6,000 peso bail.

He was arrested yesterday after disrupting Mass at the Manila Cathedral. He dressed as the Filipino national hero Jose Rizal, held up a placard with the word “Damaso” and shouted inside the cathedral that the Catholic Church should stop meddling in government affairs, especially in its birth control programs. Celdran has this to say for his actions, “I apologize for being rude. But it was necessary for me to be rude,” said he adding, “I am sorry for the method I used, but I am not sorry for the message I made.”
