The ASUS Eee PC is a low-end sub-notebook PC based on a simple Linux operating system (Upgrading to XP is possible using the ASUS-supplied XP driver set).

It comes with a basic but wide-ranging applications suite such as word processor, spreadsheet, presentation, web surfing, email, music player, video player, webcam, built-in games, etc. The price of this laptop in the Philippines ranges from 17,000 to 19,500, 12 months installment at 0% interest (as of January 2008).

Apple releases Safari Web Browser for Windows

Apple has just released a public beta of Safari version 3.0 which was announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference and now can now also be used on Windows XP and Windows Vista.

For the longest time, the Safari browser was just available for the Mac OS but now Windows users can now take it for a spin. Some of its features are improved searching within web pages, drag and drop tabs, Bonjour support for bookmarks and initial SVG support. You can download Safari 3 Public Beta from http://www.apple.com/safari/download/.

Microsoft’s Windows Longhorn has been resurrected and can now be downloaded.

Microsoft unveiled Longhorn in early 2002, as the OS to succeed Windows XP.

“Longhorn Reloaded is a Project dedicated to the revival of the Operating System known as Code Name “Longhorn”. To put the projects aims simply, we aim to finish off what Microsoft started before the operating system was canceled. It is a modification of Windows 6.0.4074, which was originally released during the 2004 Windows Hardware Engineers Conference,” reads a message on the Longhorn Reloaded official website.

Microsoft Philippines officials confirmed with Inquirer that they will be launching Windows Vista at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City on February 3, 2007.

Windows Vista is the latest release of Microsoft Windows (after XP), a line of proprietary graphical operating systems used on personal computers, including home and business desktops, notebook computers, and media centers.

They’re asking forum members to change their in-game username, password and email if they’re using the same details in the forum. Sounds like a compromised forum database. If that is the case then maybe they didn’t apply the patch on their invision.

kaya nila pinalitan yung pangalan nila kasi ang “WiFi” ay misleading sa actual na technology na ginagamit nila.

fixed wireless internet sila (broadband using antenna pero lan parin ang pasok sa pc)

yung wifi naman gamit ung 802.11a/b/g protocol. access point to wifi card ang interface nyan

napagsabihan ata sila ng wifi alliance and they decided to rebrand their product

pero before nila pinalitan dami nila inayos/upgrade sa base stations kaya panay dc, no connection. ewan ko lang ngayon hehe

Some also say that the rebranding was because Smart Wifi now has a bad reputation due to poor services to its subscribers.
