OP7 is a free-to-play FPS (first person shooter) online game in the Philippines offered under X-Play, which is a joint venture company between E-Games and GMA New Media, the digital arm of broadcast firm GMA Network.

The game was created by Korean game development company Mgame. In OP7, guns can be modified in a wide selection of parts such as Dot Sights, Scopes, Kobs, Silencers, Gun Body, Barrels, and more so that each player has a unique gun. It also allows players to customize the appearance of their avatar as the game progresses and uses maps based on real locations.

Grand Friendster EB (Pinoy Friendster Day)

Social networking web site Friendster will be having a grand EB (meet up) dubbed as “Pinoy Friendster Day.”

It will be on August 15, 2009, 4PM at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall. All Friendster users in the Philippines are invited and admission is free. You just have to print the event pass found here. Corazon “Cory” Aquino burial live streaming

Former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino will be buried beside her husband at the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque City.

The burial will begin with a requiem mass at the Manila Cathedral, Wednesday at 9AM. It will be followed by the Aquino family’s response to be given by Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III. The start of the procession is around noon. People are discouraged from going straight to the Aquino mausoleum because of the space limitation as it can only accommodate 100 to 200 people.

ABS-CBN network is set to put up huge screens for live streaming to enable the public to watch the proceedings. The route of the cortege is as follows: Travel along Roxas Boulevard, turn left on Quirino Avenue, and then turn right on the Southern Luzon Expressway. It will then exit on Sucat, turn right on Sucat Road and then left to enter Manila Memorial Park.

Local Website Aims to Help Filipinos Save On Fuel Purchases

TipidGas.com, a Pinoy version of oil price watch/monitoring sites abroad aims to help Filipino consumers by providing fuel price information to users through the use of an interactive map.

The site, like the other sites it is based upon, depends on like-minded volunteers sharing info so that others are better informed where to find cheaper fuel for their next fill up. The site also features news feeds and forums related to fuels and motoring.

DOJ dismisses Richard Gutierrez’s libel case against PEP

The Department of Justice (DOJ) dismissed the 25-million libel case filed by actor Richard Gutierrez against showbiz news website Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) for “lack of probable cause.”

The DOJ resolution was received by the PEP’s legal counsel Sandy Coronel at 9:10AM Thursday. Gutierrez filed a complaint against editor-in-chief Jo-Ann Maglipon, managing editor Karen Pagsolingan, and staff writer Bong Godinez last April 13, claiming that the three maliciously published an article on March 29 that accused him of being in a gun-toting incident with actor Michael Flores.

NBI raids “Flesh Asia Daily 2.0″ office

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) raided on Friday afternoon the office of “Flesh Asia Daily 2.0″ believed to have first uploaded videos of Hayden Kho and several women.

Fidel Lazarte and sons Marvin and Jobert Lazarte, the alleged web site’s maintainers and operators, were taken from their office in Bacoor, Cavite to the NBI for questioning. According to Head Agent Palmer Mallari, the web site was the first to introduce the videos of Kho and actress Katrina Halili dancing to the tune of Careless Whisper, Kho and model Maricar Reyes, and a third video titled “Beautiful Girl.”

The NBI is studying the possibility of filing charges against the Lazartes but they could also become witnesses if they cooperate in identifying the people behind the distribution of the videos.
