Filipino netizens feed the troll, Ahcee Flores

Filipino netizens (most of them) are at it again doing one of their favorite pastimes, feeding the troll.

Feeding the troll is when

You reply to a troll or group of trolls on the internet, usually angrily and while showing signs of being offended.

When you do this, you give the trolls the attention that they crave. You’re responding in the way that the troll wants you to respond. You get upset over something that someone posted on the internet.

The troll in this case is a certain Ahcee Flores who posted a comment in Yahoo! Philippines’ news story about the recent earthquake where she posted, “Let us all pray……. Na matuloy ang tsunami para maraming bisaya ang mamatay, para mabawasan ang mga baduy sa pilipinas.”

Ahcee was obviously fishing for attention and the ever gullible Filipino netizens fell for it and gave her what she wanted. She is now trending on Twitter while Yahoo! Philippines wrote a news story about her.

They should stop feeding the troll and focus on the more important things like thinking on how to help those who were affected by the earthquake and praying for our kababayans. Please stop giving attention to Internet trolls.

Chief Justice Renato Corona Impeachment Trial Live Streaming

Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona will go on trial later today, January 16, 2012.

He is being accused of betrayal of public trust, culpable violation of the Constitution and graft and corruption. The top 2 news organization here in the Philippines, ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) and GMA-7 will be providing live streaming videos for those who don’t have access to TV or who are abroad.

The results of Ateneo’s college entrance exams or ACET for SY 2012-2013 are now out.

The list of passers will be posted online at 12PM today, January 14, 2012. Go to http://ls.ateneo.edu/acet_results.php.

In order to search the admission database, enter your last name with suffix and complete first name and middle name.

Example:
Last Name: Santos III
Complete First Name: Abram Josephine
Complete Middle Name: Binten

For those with NO middle name, kindly put a dash in the proper field.

Example:
Last Name: Reyes IV
Complete First Name: Jude
Complete Middle Name:-

Missing APC student Noemi Lagman Found

The father and cousin of Noemi Lagman announced last night, January 10 that she has already been found.

Here is their statement as posted on Facebook:

NOEMI LAGMAN UPDATE:

Noemi Lagman has been found and she is now safe. Our deepest gratitude to all of you who helped us.

For the final time regarding this issue, I hope you can click once more your likes, comments, and share buttons. Everyone deserves to know. It was through social media where we got the first lead and it has played a vital role in connecting all of us.

We were advised by the authorities that information on how and where she was found be kept confidential for her and her family’s security and privacy. We ask for your understanding on this matter.

As of this writing, there are 213 likes, 111 comments, 96 tags, and a staggering 8,114 shares on my facebook wall on posts regarding Noemi. A total of 8,534 online activity. We ask the Lord to bless 8,534 times all of you who helped us during this time. This does not include online and offline activities that I could not quantify anymore.

It has been an exhausting and emotionally draining 100 hours of non-stop search, the longest 100 hours of our lives, something we will never forget. Finally I want to share with all of you the lesson we learned from this experience: love your family, love them tirelessly, love them unconditionally, because at the end of the day, it’s what matters.

The results of the De La Salle University College Entrance Test (DLSUCET) are out.

To check whether you passed the said exam, go to http://enroll.dlsu.edu.ph/dlsu/freshmen/freshmen and enter your Reference No., and both your first and last names. The reference number can be found on your receipt.

Facebook post sparks UPCAT vs USTET issue

A post on the Facebook page “UPCAT” has earned the ire of netizens especially those from UST (University of Santo Tomas).

“Lumabas na pala ang results ng USTET, walang thrill kasi madali lang naman nun (sic). Last week pa ng February ang results ng UPCAT -walang kasing hirap kaya sulit ang paghihintay! ;)” the FB post said.

A certain Anjo Gonda reacted, “This, is by far, the most pathetic post, I have ever read in my life. I never questioned the credibility of UP. I’m an admirer of its curriculum and its products. But apparently, there really are these people who are desperate enough to keep their feet away from the ground, and even result to character assassination.” while a certain Bene Balangue said, “Maliit na bagay, pinapalaki. It’s more fun in the Philippines.”

The lawyer of Janelle Manahan, Atty. Argee Guevarra alleged that it is possible that Ramona “Mara” Bautista may be the one who uploaded and leaked the private and intimate video of Ramgen (Revilla) and Janelle.

“Batay sa aming pagmo-monitor, noong unang pumutok ang s3x video at inupload ito sa YouTube, ang mga IP addresses diumano ay galing pang Europa. Alam naman natin kung sino sa pamilya Bautista ang nasa Europa ngayon. Walang iba kundi si Mara Bautista,” Guevarra said in an interview on ABS-CBN’s talk show, “The Buzz.”

Ramona left the Philippines for Turkey last November 4, 2011. She and her husband, Engin Tuna Bülbüloglu have reportedly moved to Cyprus.
