CBCP stops the sale of Diablo 3 in the Philippines via TRO from SC (NOT TRUE!)

It's only fair to share...Share on FacebookTweet about this on Twitter

An article that was posted on the blog “So, What’s News?” saying that the CBCP secured a temporary restraining order (TRO) stopping the sale of the game Diablo 3 is not true.

Just by looking at the about section (http://sowhatsnews.wordpress.com/about/) of the said website, it is clear:

So, What’s News? is a satirical & fictional news website. Our aim is to inject humor into everyday news to provide respite to readers who have grown weary with mainstream news organization’s partisan, biased and depressing way of presenting the news.

There you have it. The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines didn’t secure a TRO from the Supreme Court stopping the sale of Diablo 3 here in the Philippines. But who knows? They might eventually do that, now that thousands of people have given them [CBCP] the idea by spreading this hoax.

Stop believing everything that you read or hear! Verify it first with the major news websites and stop spreading false information.

  1. Thanks for the mention :)

And thanks to fellow commenter Sebs.  That is indeed the aim of the blog and the article. Look at what’s happening to Lady Gaga’s concert.. scary right?
Unfortunately a lot of people deemed the article as HOAX, but having people discuss and debate about the issue at hand, is what I hope my article, a Satire, has achieved.

    thank you :)

  2. Yeah. I was duped by that. But the good thing is, it generated some discussion in our church circle whether the game is good or not.
