Ces Drilon, TV crew kidnapped by Abu Sayyaf in Sulu?
ABS-CBN reporter Ces Drilon and two cameramen have been reportedly abducted while pursuing a story in Sulu by armed men believed to members of the Abu Sayyaf Group, police officials said.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN has released an official statement on the incident:
Three ABS-CBN journalists Ces Drilon, Jimmy Encarnacion, and Angelo Valderama are missing in Sulu.
All efforts are underway to find them and bring them home.
Until we learn more details, ABS-CBN News requests other media to report on this matter with utmost consideration for the safety of our news team.
ABS-CBN News is in touch with the families and asks that their privacy be respected.

if i remember it right, this isn’t the first time it happened to ABS-CBN reporters. some years ago, former ABS-CBN reporter Arlyn dela Cruz and her crew were abducted in Mindanao also but they’ve fortunately been freed by their captors after several days. i hope Ces Drilon and her company shall be freed also at the soonest possible time.

Sigh. I know this is what Ces Drilon always wanted - to be in the limelight, to be the center of attraction for their bravery and courage. Well, I have my personal biases towards this TV reporter. Honestly, when I first heard of the kidnap I sai, “buti nga sa kanya.” Well I’m just being honest. Nevertheless, I still pray for their safe return to civilization and to the better world than the world of the ASG. The TV networks are limiting news release of this event to lessen whatever risk there might be. Government troops are also on their way to locate the team or contact the captors for possible negotiation.

if this is true how sad it is. come on guys masama na nga yung balita puro network war pa ang sinasabi ng ilan sa inyo. this is an unfortunate event just in case it’s true. I’m a solid Kapuso pero iba nang usapan if lives are at risk. forget your loyalty to your networks speak as a human being. Peace bros! It can happen to any reporter not because kapamilya or kapuso reporters risk their lives more than the other. too bad yung mga fans ng kapamilya are consider other things than safety of humans in general.

in fact, every now and then she would be on live feed via satellite while anchoring for Bandila…malas lang siguro nya at nadali sila ng mga kidnapper this time.

This is not really big news. Actually I was watching Bandila last night and yes this reporter Maan Macapagal was hostaged and was released later on. The media is just making this a big issue but when I switch to Saksi I watch there Sec. Raul Gonzales telling media men that abduction is quite common. But really it’s the media’s fault they glorified this incident it should not be.

well, for the media people, it is just but something not unique that they expose themselves to some levels of risks.
in FAIRNESS to other media organizations, it is NOT ONLY abscbn reporters/mediamen who have been in the same fate with ms. drilon.
that is why, we cannot say that it is ABSOLUTELY these media people, now kidnapped are the ONLY ones that really work hard to come up with stories.
No, no, no. What about those that expose corruption and the nasty image of our society? what about those that give us awareness on environmental issues?
no story is worth dying for! on one hand, media people should have some measures to protect their lives, along with the assurance of the network they are working for that the are protected.

Nakidnap? or Nagpakidnap!!! A native of Sulu don’t even dare go to such farflung area kapag walang kakilala considering the critical situation. Maybe aware naman sila nyan. Tama ang sinabi ng AFP official na dapat ngbigay alam sila ng movement to give them security. Maybe Ces just really wanted to get the attention of the whole filipino nation and get a media milestone in her career… BAKIT KULANG PA BA??? FUNNY, D PO BA? They took the risk and at the expense of other people ..
