International singing sensation Charice Pempengco will sing the national anthem at the inauguration of President-elect Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III on June 30, 2010.
It was initially reported that the task of singing the anthem was a toss-up between Journey lead vocalist Arnel Pineda and Charice. The national anthem titled “Lupang Hinirang” will be performed as soon as President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo leaves the Quirino Grandstand.
