Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Chuck Liddell reportedly will be coming to the Philippines on September 21, 2008.

Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell

Also known as “The Iceman”, he is known for his exceptional takedown defense and knockout ability. He will be promoting Mixed Martial Arts and mingle with Filipino Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fans. This might also be an opportunity for Manila to be included in the UFC’s list of potential host cities.

    To JOE, huwag ka na lang magsalita. Wala kang alam sa MMA. Knock out? Sa akin pa lang, masuwerte ka kung makikilala ka pa ng nanay mo. Sigurado ko, sabunot lang ang alam mong gawin, siyempre aside from dumaldal ng dumaldal, obviously.

    I am HUNTER, a doctor by profession and a mixed martial artist by choice. My base is shotokan karate mixed with everything else. I pattern my striking and defense with that of Chuck’s: Counter-punching and superior sprawls.

    Me and my friends, known in Baguio as TEAM ORPHANAGE-MMA, will definitely see Chuck Liddell. As practitioners and fans, this is probably the best chance to promote the discipline in our country. We will be there to see it!

    Chuck Liddell (together with Randy Couture) is the HEART and SOUL of mixed martial arts! And the iceman will always be the greatest striker and the best takedown defense minister in the history of the sport!

    He’s still one of the best. Everybody gets old. Nobody stays on top forever. The thing is, may legacy siyang iniwan. Kahit pa 69 years old na sya kung dumating dito, my respects to him dahil isa sya sa dahilan kung bakit lumago ang mixed martial arts scene.

    HI GUYS, JUST CAME FROM MOA THIS EVENING.. OH, I LOVED THE EVENT :) I WAS ABLE TO GET MY PIC TAKEN WITH THE ICEMAN. I HEARD THAT THERE MIGHT BE A UFC EVENT NEXT YEAR, AROUND MAY. I BETTER KEEP MY FINGERS CROSSED.

    THE EVENT IN MOA WAS GREAT, THERE WERE LOTS OF PEOPLE AND FREEBIES AS WELL. MY HUBBY, MY FRIENDS AND I WERE LUCKY TO HAVE FRONT ROW SEATS AND VIP PASSES.     WE REGISTERED AHEAD OF TIME, AROUND 12PM BECAUSE WE WERE MEMBERS OF THE GYM ‘FIGHT CLUB’ AND MY HUSBAND WAS AN MMA COACH AS WELL. OTHER THAN THAT, THE PINOY ORGANIZERS FROM BALLS WERE REALLY KIND TO US. THEY EVEN GAVE US PHOTO STUBS. WE HAD OUR SOLO PICS TAKEN WITH CHUCK :) MERON PA NGA AKONG FREE KISS :) THAT’S WHY WE’RE SOO HAPPY :) CAN’T WAIT FOR THE UFC TO BE HELD HERE NEXT YEAR, BUT I HEAD AROUND 5K YUNG CHEAPEST TICKET AND AROUND 20K YUNG FRONT SEATS.     All of the Affliction clothing being sold in GH or DV are all fake. The closest to the originals are the ones being sold by Sand Clothing and Structure (the latests are quite lame though). I both the ANDREI ARLOVSKI (AWOO AWOO!) affliction shirt and it costs around $70 including shipping. K-1 Extreme also sells original Sinister,TapOut,and Warrior clothing and apparels.
