CONGRATS DAVID COOK. ROCK N ROLL

  21. SHY Says:

    ROCKERS ROCKS………………………………………

  22. SHY Says:

LOS ANGELES - Twenty-five-year-old singer David Cook won the coveted title of “American Idol” on Wednesday, dealing an unexpected defeat to silken-voiced teenager David Archuleta on the most popular US television show.

  23. SHY Says:

Filipino Renaldo Lapuz who amused “American Idol” judges after performing his original composition “We’re Brothers Forever”–whle wearing a hat and a cape–made a comeback on the hit TV talent search even though he failed to pass the audition the first time.

Lapuz may not have been an actual contestant on the latest “American Idol” season (that saw rocker David Cook win the grand championship) but he was invited again to perform as a guest on the night of the finals on May 22.

Lapuz performed his original song in front of thousands inside Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre and was watched by millions of viewers all over the world.

The 45-year-old, Nevada-based Filipino became an instant internet sensation after his audition for AI was uploaded on YouTube. The video clip of his audition early January of this year shows how entertained judges Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell were over Lapuz’s rather distinct performance.

Cowell stated his verdict regarding Lapuz this way: “I’m going to make a rediction here. I have a horrible feeling that it’s going to be a hit record. You’re very entertaining. I actually like you but it’s going to be ‘No.’”

Before Lapuz’s live performance on the AI finals night, his famous audition video clip was aired. Lapuz was then introduced by the show’s host Ryan Seacrest.

Lapuz, now known as the “Pinoy William Hung”, delivered his “We’re Brothers Forever” a capella with much gusto. The moment was made more remarkable when judges Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson went up on the stage to dance with Lapuz.

As expected, Simon Cowell just stayed on his chair and watched.

In an interview Lapuz said that he wrote the song for Cowell, to spread the word that the latter is really a good person despite being known for his scathing, withering comments about the performances of AI contestants.

  24. dewdew Says:

    @shy:

hindi ko alam kung bakit kanina nung pinapanood ko yung performance niya ay parang nakakhiya siya kahit sobrang natawa ako.alam niya namang pinagtatawanan lang siya.

  25. SHY Says:

Do you think William Hung was invited before to do a live performance in finals night? Be proud that Renaldo Lapuz was invited to perform. It’s kinda funny but it is once in a lifetime opportunity only few people have that chance to perform in the most known reality shows in the world.

  26. dewdew Says:

    oo, pero parang nakakahiya….

  27. dewdew Says:

try ninyo pumunta sa tagpuan 4 lang ang comment tungkol dito…

  28. SHY Says:

cguro but nice entertaiment d b…

  29. dewdew Says:

    @shy:

punta ka sa tagpuan tignan mo yung comments 2ngkol dito rin!ang dami!grabe!

  30. SHY Says:

    nag comment n ako

  31. dewdew Says:

    @ shy:

ang dami no!ako gusto ko mag- comment pero blinock nila yung ip address ko doon kasi may sinabi akong against sa gma, pep, agb, at tagpuan na halata namang totoo…

  32. Zweihander Says:

Woooo! I soooooo wanted him to win pero di ko ineexpect na mananalo siya. Galing. :)

Simon Cowell apologizes to David Cook at Idol finale
    05/22/2008 | 10:45 AM

Email this | Email the Editor | Print | Digg this | Add to del.icio.us LOS ANGELES - Did Simon Cowell know David Cook would win? Or was he, for once, just being nice?

Right before host Ryan Seacrest announced Cook as the next “American Idol,” Cowell issued an uncharacteristic apology to the sincere 25-year-old rocker for skewering him during Tuesday’s final performance show. The British judge went so far as to say that the remarks he made the night before to the future “Idol” winner were “verging on disrespectful.”

“When I went back home and watched it, it wasn’t quite so clear cut as we called it,” he said to the final two.

Cowell congratulated and praised both Cook and runner-up David Archuleta, the smiley 17-year-old crooner from Murray, Utah. Cowell even revealed that “for the first time ever, I don’t really care who wins.” Such comments came as a surprise to many after Cowell heaped huge amounts of praise on Archuleta and said he won the competition by a “knockout.”

The 48-year-old acerbic judge was very wrong: Cook overcame Archuleta with 12 million more votes. - AP

  41. Zweihander Says:

Si Daughtry at Clarkson lang ata ang naging successful sa mga naproduce na talent ng AI. Parang pbb lang yan. Sikat na sikat sila during the show, ang dami ng text votes. Pero after the show, swertehan na ang pagsikat. Sana maging successful din si Cook. :)

  42. claudeiii Says:

correction po SHY, it’s not the kodak theatre where they performed, it’s the NOKIA theatre

  58. ai7 Says:

David Archuleta’s vocal coach, Dean Kaelin, reported heavy producer involvement during the arrangement of the week of the final three. Kaelin cited the producers telling Archuleta to sing “Longer” at a slower tempo than he rehearsed with, giving David Cook the song “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” (a song that had been slated for Archuleta two weeks prior), and disallowing Syesha Mercado (but allowing Cook) the use of strings for her song.
