David Archuleta’s vocal coach, Dean Kaelin, reported heavy producer involvement during the arrangement of the week of the final three. Kaelin cited the producers telling Archuleta to sing “Longer” at a slower tempo than he rehearsed with, giving David Cook the song “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” (a song that had been slated for Archuleta two weeks prior), and disallowing Syesha Mercado (but allowing Cook) the use of strings for her song.
