Filipino IBF flyweight champion Nonito Donaire Jr. will defend his title for the first time against Mexican challenger Luis Maldonado Foxwood Hotel in Mashantucket, Connecticut on Dec. 1.
Donaire will put his International Boxing Federation (IBF) and International Boxing Organization (IBO) flyweight titles on the line. Donaire captured the belt from Darchinyan when he knocked out the Armenian-Australian with one-left hook in the fifth round on July 7 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The 24-year-old Filipino has a record of 18-1-1 with 11 knockouts. Maldonado has 37-1-1 with 28 knockouts.
