The Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) released the list of nominees for this year’s FAMAS Awards.


The Best Director bets are Joey Reyes (“Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo”), Jeffrey Jeturian (“Kubrador”), Dante Mendoza (“Kaleldo”), Veronica Velasco/Pablo Biglang-Awa (“Inang Yaya”), and Joyce Bernal (“Don’t Give Up On Us”).

For Best Actress: Judy Ann Santos (“Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo”), Maricel Soriano (“Inang Yaya”), Gina Pareño (“Kubrador”), Cherry Pie Picache (“Kaleldo”) and Claudine Barretto (“Sukob”).

Best Actor: Johnny Delgado (“Kaleldo”), Piolo Pascual (“Don’t Give Up On Us”), Jericho Rosales (“Pacquiao”), Ryan Agoncillo (“Umuulan, Umaaraw”) and Cesar Montano (“Ligalig”).

Best Supporting Actress: Veterans Rio Locsin (“Donít Give Up On Us”), Liza Lorena (“Barang”), Gina Pareño (“Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo”); and young talents Jodi Sta. Maria (“You Are the One”) and Maja Salvador (“Sukob”).

Best Supporting Actor: Allen Dizon (“Twilight Dancer”), Wendell Ramos (“Sukob”), Tommy Abuel (“Don’t Give Up On Us”), Jimmy Concepcion (“Barang”), Allan Paule (“Kaleldo”).

    She truly deserves the Best Actress Award because her performance in Inang yaya is excellent. Her acting is well crafted and very restrained.You can really feel her emotions even without too much shouting and crying. Her acting is riveting and very classic.

    juday should win the trophy…. she deserves it… even before…. nung sabel dapat grandslam na sya kaya lng kinuntsaba ng abs-cbn ang famas that time kaya c clau ang nanala… walang sinabi ang acting ni claudine sa milan kung i cocompare sa acting ni juday sa sabel…

    Maricel’s acting deserves an awrd because it is well restrained and felt. Emotions are excellently shown with appropriate intensity and timing as required by each scene.
    One should analyze the degree of difficulty in portraying Norma’s character in Inang yaya. It is no ordinary acting. It is wonderfully and brilliantly portrayed by Ms. Maricel Soriano. You will not see Maricel soriano in the character but Norma the nanny in the movie. You can really feel the acting of maricel soriano.

    I guess everyone knows that it’s MARICEL SORIANO who should bring home the trophy. All of them are good actresses but her performance in the movie “Inang Yaya” was superb and not all actresses can portray it the way she does.

    sa totoo lang.. npnood q ung 3 movies… sukob.. inang yaya and kkk… it’s a battle between gina pareño and maricel sorian for best actress.. a runaway win for cesar in best actor, gina pareño for best supporting actress but if she’ll win the best actress, it would be maja who’ll win best supporting actress.. inang yaya director’s for best dirctor.. and inang yaya or kkk for best pic..

    Dapat lang na si Maricel Soriano ang Manalo , dahil Kung hindi , Luto at dayaan yan , dios ko Day marami pang kakaining bigas yan si Mananagat ay este!! Juday, kaya ko nasabi na mananagat , kasi naman trying hard ang pag papa kulay nya ng buhok hindi bagay mukha siyang isang taga isla na palagi sa dagat naku hindi manlang cya na advicce ng mga kaibigan at manager nya, at nakakatawa ang commercial nya sa ano un Petron? gasolinahan? nakaliyad meron ba namang naliligo sa beach na balut na balut , hindi kasi totoong seksi cya kaya naka suot ng ganon, hindi nya alam na ginagamit lang ciya ni Ryan, Ha ha ha!!!

    Calling the attention of all Famas judges, please choose the most deserving winner of all. Maricel Soriano’s acting deserved the Best Actress Award no less no more. Just consider the finesse and suave performance of Maricel as Norma in Inang Yaya, You can clearly see the big difference. I have watched Juday in KKK and Gina in Kubrador, but their performances are not as textured as that of Maricel Soriano. Varied emotions are exemplary expressed by Soriano all throughout the movie. Maricel was absolutely wonderful !!!!

    I agree with most posts here. Maricel should have won this award for her potrayal as Norma in Inang Yaya. Indeed it was an excellent performance. I have seen Juday’s acting in KKK; my goodness, i really didn’t see any reason why she won. tsk tsk.
