Filipino American nurse cries foul for alleged racial slur at H&M

Frannie Richards, 33, a retired U.S. Air Force Reserve Staff Sergeant and a nurse at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, filed a complaint against the H&M department store at 840 N. Michigan Ave., USA.

While she was shopping there on Sept. 13, a white male employee said, “mail-order bride in the house” and started giggling with another employee. When she asked to go to the fitting room, the employee said “Can’t you read English? It’s over there – fitting room.” And as she was walking away, he was saying “ching, ching, chong.”. H & M is investigating the complaint and also says employees are trained in the company’s zero tolerance police in an effort to ensure that all individuals are treated with respect and dignity.
