Former RGMA program director Donard Nojas turns ABS-CBN informant
Donard Duane L. Nojas, former program director and anchorman of Saksi Evening Edition in Super Radyo DYSB 1179kHz Radio Station Bacolod for RGMA Network Inc. gave his account on the alleged “special operations” conducted by RGMA to boost radio and TV ratings in Bacolod.
He said that RGMA hired Toto Aliguin, one of ABS-CBN’s informants, and others to scout for panel homes and bribe the homeowners to faithfully tune in to GMA-7 programs. Meanwhile, GMA-7 denied the above accusations in a statement sent to the media.

abs-cbn can go on and pay up to a hundred witnesses…, the problem would still be how their testimonies would hold in court…sabi nga nila pag inulit-ulit ang kasinungalingan, nagiging totoo na ito sa mga malabnaw ang utak… tulad na lang ng mga kapamilya… mag-antay na lang kasi na sa korte pakinggan ang lahat…on the other hand, gma can deny all it can pero sa korte iba na ang usapan

Naku ayan na naman may bagong witness na taga GMA na. Bakit kaya hindi pa nila idemanda nang magkaalam na kung sino ang nagsasabi ng totoo or puro publicity lang. Idemanda na kasi hindi yung puro na lang pakita sa TV ang mga witnesses baka naman maging artista ang mga yan dahil sa puro exposure sa TV.

WHY NATIONWIDE RATINGS (NUTAM) are MORE important THAN MEGATAM?
1. Survey results nationwide are the main concern of the advertisers. Currently there are only two main sources of TV survey reports: AC Nielsen and Audits of Great Britain (AGB). Ratings are nationwide where the majority of consumers are situated. This includes all the provinces, cities, and municipalities of the country.
2. Of more than 80 million Filipinos, majority of the population live outside Metro Manila, Cavite, Rizal, Laguna, and Bulacan. They are 62 million or 78% of the total Philippine population. Metro Manila, Cavite, Rizal, Laguna, and Bulacan has a population of only 18 million. (Sourceopulation Census)
3. There are 13.8 million total households in the Philippines; Majority are in the provinces outside Metro Manila, Rizal, Laguna, Cavite and Bulacan. These provinces, cities, and municipalities would account to 10.05 million of the total household in the Philippine. 7. Nearly 100% of the upper class have TV sets, 94% of the middle class have TV sets and 46% of the lower class have TV sets in the country.
8. Generally, Filipinos watch about 200 minutes of television daily. This high level of viewing is only second to Japanese viewers. 9. Metro Cebu, Metro Davao and Dagupan does not represent the viewing habits of the rest of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Viewing habits vary considerably from city to city. Metro Cebu (where ABS-CBN leads) does not represent the viewing habit of the whole Visayas because it differs with the viewing habit of Iloilo (where GMA-7 leads), another large city in the Visayas. Dagupan does not represent the viewing habit of the rest of Luzon because it has a relatively high cable penetration of 50%; the national average cable penetration rate is only 11%. Metro Davao does not represent the viewing habit of the rest of Mindanao because of its small percentage of the total TV households in Mindanao.
10. As what history shows, the provinces follow the trend in Metro Manila. ABS-CBN became number 1 in Metro Manila in 1988. It took them quite a while to grab the lead in the provinces. The company became number 1 in the Visayas in the early 1990’s. It only became number 1 in Mindanao in the late 1990’s when they started to put up TV relay stations in the key cities of Mindanao.
11. Advertising spends $347 million dollar in advertising spending. That is almost 20 billion pesos. So TV advertising is really important. Company profit and revenues reflect the company performance in the whole country.

Meteor Garden remains as the highest rated Asian drama overall shown in the Philippines, garnering a 57.4% peak rating with an average rating of 42.9% in mega manila and a peak of 73.0% nationwide with an average of 62.0% which was shown over ABS-CBN. The replay value was just so high, that when it was replayed again every Saturday and Sunday, it rated an amazing 42.0% on its finale.

GMA 7, ABS-CBN’s rival network, reairs Meteor Garden in their own re-dubbed version but unfortunately it didn’t show good ratings. Its highest rating in gma7 is just 30.0% in mega manila and 13.0% nationwide.

MANILA, Philippines–This cute administration of Gloriaetta and the Sy family — which owns the SM chain of malls and adjudged by Forbes as among the richest people in the world - -finally consummated that notorious multibillion-peso deal that we have been harping on, even earning us a little smear campaign.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) the other day posted a transaction involving more than 338 million shares of Equitable PCI Bank (EPCIB) — in a “cross sale” at that!
It means that, actually, the buyer and the seller made the prearranged deal outside the stock exchange. They just posted it on the PSE for formality.
We checked and double-checked our sources, and they confirmed that the deal involved the same controversial EPCIB shares owned by the SSS.
Oops — that is our pension fund, meaning, the Social Security System (SSS), which is world famous for scrimping on benefits to us, its members — actually used our money.
And now in the sale of its EPCIB holdings, the manager of the retirement money of millions of ordinary workers, our beloved SSS, has just gifted the super-rich Sy family some P14 billion.
What’s P14 billion to the starving and the sick SSS members, anyway?

According to our sources, the SSS — still headed by its president, Corazon de la Paz, who is often out of the country — sold its EPCIB shares to Banco de Oro (BDO) of the Sy family for a total of P17 billion, or at P51 a share.
But only two years ago, the other pension fund, the GSIS (Government Service Insurance System) sold its shares in the same bank to the same company owned by the same family at P92 each.
Now do the math! I’m not sure that De la Paz did!
If the GSIS sold its 95 million shares in EPCIB at P92 per, while the SSS sold its more than 338 million shares in the same bank at P51 per, how much of their retirement fund — for which they were killing themselves doing hard labor — did the SSS members just give up, as a result of that questionable deal between this cute administration and the Sy family? Show the solution to your answer.
Right, it was only some P14 billion! Lost to the SSS members! Forever!
To think, had the SSS and the GSIS sold their shares as one block, offering the bidders control over 45 percent of EPCIB, they could even have fetched a better price than the P92 per share paid by BDO for the GSIS shares.
In fact, GSIS president and general manager Winston Garcia insisted on such a plan, but apparently somebody close to the Palace, shall we say, “overruled” him.
To think, my fellow SSS members, the controversial deal between the SSS and the Sy family was already forged as early as 2004 right before the presidential election. Hmmm.
At that time, too, the headlines screamed about the “fertilizer scam,” in which the amount involved was something like P700 million. And we did not hear the end of it.
This is a clear outright P14-billion loss for the SSS members! Again — that’s P14 billion! Everybody is quiet!

Totoong may dayaan sa rating talagang dinaya ng GMA-7. Hindi lang 2007 nangyayari yan noon pa 2006, 2005, 2004 sa panahon pa ni Fred Alejaga at sa mga sinundan pa nito.
