Francis Magalona dies
The King of Pinoy rap, Francis “Kiko” Magalona has succumbed to leukemia and died at about 12 noon. He was 44 years old.
Eat Bulaga host Vic Sotto announced it a while ago, together with the rest of the hosts of the said noontime show. He also requested a moment of silence from the viewers.
Back in August 2008, Francis was diagnosed with AML or Acute Myelogenous Leukemia with Mixed Lineage and sought treatment at Medical City.

I was shock the time I hear the news about francis M. Di ako makapaniwala.Ang nasa isip ko kaagad ay yong younger sister kong nagwowork sa Italy. Yong sister ko ay mayron din syang Leukemia. Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia or CML. halos kasabay nya si francis na detect na mayron din syang leukemia. Sa ngayon na transplant na yong sister ko sa pamamagitan ng stem cells. Nag undergo sya ng chemoteraphy at 100 days syang pabalik balik ng hospita for check up. Napakahirap ng dinaranas ng sister ko lalo nat wala syang kahit iisang kamag anak nandoon pra tumingin at mag alaga sa kanya.domestic helper po sya sa italy. Mga kasamahan nya lang yong tumutulong sa kanya. Mabuti nalang at doon sa Italy ay free yong hospital at gamot wala syang binabayaran. Pasalamat na rin kami kasi kahit papano ay naalagaan sya at nagagamot ng husto. Ang hirap daw ay yong gusto nyang kumain di sya makakain at halos iluluwa nya yong bituka nya kong makakain sya. dahil po daw ito sa effect ng chemo. Pakiramdam daw nya lagi syang gutom at masakit ang tyan.
Sana malagpasan nya rin ang mga pagsubok na ito. tulungan din po nyo akong ipagdasal na gumaling sya. Salamat po.

was watching wowowie when i heard the news. on the opening of the show, dj coki stopped and asked willie to give a one minute prayer then willie asked “why”? then dj coki whispered something to willie. when you heard of one minute silence or prayer you know somebody died right? but i really did not expect it to be francis m. was so shocked. even my sister was. my memories of his music flashed back. i was in grade school when the song “mga kababayan” was a hit. it is really a national anthem of the youth back then. i totally admire the guy bec of his good looks. hehehe kidding aside, he’s really great in what he do. he has a lot of flaws and imperfections, but what i still admrie of him is the fact that he admits this flaws and did something to change it. (i actually witnessed one of those scandals inolving him in new manila) but it did not stop me from idolizing him. why? who among you can tell me another person who did the great job as he did? being patriotic, has a helping hand, helping other artists, his being artistic, businessman and a lot more? there’s only 2 jack-of-all-trade i know in my entire life, him and of course my dad. and im proud to say that yes, im a big fan. from his music to his photography. he somewhat influenced me in photography. from his shirts to his blogs. he will forever be missed. as pepe smith said, “i-reserve mo na lang ako ng upuan jan.”

im not a big fan of rap genre… but i do admire him for his patriotism… he’s lyrics, i believe, brought the rap genre into a higher level.. unlike some rap songs wherein wot u hear are constant nonsense… mr. francis m’s lyrics are imbued with deep meaning and lessons… I guess if ever our national hero jose rizal will meet him in heaven… he’ll probably hug him coz of wot our master rapper did… uplifting the value of patriotism.. thanks 4 the good memories.. you’ll always be in our hearts… MABUHAY ANG MGA PINOY!!! rest i peace my friend… May Our Dear creator cradle you in his loving arms..
