From a local PC Forum

kaya nila pinalitan yung pangalan nila kasi ang “WiFi” ay misleading sa actual na technology na ginagamit nila.

fixed wireless internet sila (broadband using antenna pero lan parin ang pasok sa pc)

yung wifi naman gamit ung 802.11a/b/g protocol. access point to wifi card ang interface nyan

napagsabihan ata sila ng wifi alliance and they decided to rebrand their product

pero before nila pinalitan dami nila inayos/upgrade sa base stations kaya panay dc, no connection. ewan ko lang ngayon hehe

Some also say that the rebranding was because Smart Wifi now has a bad reputation due to poor services to its subscribers.

    the smart wifi was just a marketing idea, imho. para maengganyo yung mga taong itry yung service nila. mayabang nga naman pakinggan na naka-wifi yung isang user. hehehe.

    totoo yan,

    I being a Smart Wifi (Smart bro na ngayon) client, talagang mabagal ang service
    nila, although mabait naman yung mga tao sa support nila. Puro support ticket,
    then it takes weeks para mapilitan sila pumunta sa bahay. I think ang pagigiging
    puro DC depends on the cellsite. Just this moring, nagpalipat kami ng cellsite.
    Kasi mabagal yung connection namin from the previous cellsite (150kbps) ,ngayon
    300++ na nag speed, but unfortunately, madalas DC ang connection (unlike sa mabagal,
    pero tuloy-tuloy).

    So what else? Smart Bro. is overselling in my view. Too much customers sa
    bandwidth na allowed sila. Pinalitan nila ang name ng Wifi to Bro… tama ka… yun nga
    nga. Sira na ang name ng Smart Wifi. Kahit saan ko ipareview, 90% says ta*,
    o panget yan. Mag globe ka nalang..

    Sana gumanda lang ang connectivity, ok na lahat.

    ganun parin swanget ng serbisyo.. 10 days na akong walang internet.. sa kanila daw problem monitor ko lan ga daw kung may pag babago at sabihin ko lang daw sa kanila kung gusto ko ng update.. WTF

    every negative comment for smart wifi (or smart bro…whatever) are all true. talagang hype lang ang ginagawa ng smart, not to mention that meridian was behind all of these pero di man lang nababanggit. those people at tech support sucks. scripted ang mga sagot, even follow ups lang, ibabalik ka sa troubleshooting. but if you can find a contact from meridian (the guys who do the dirty job for smart), mas maayos kausap at mas may sense.

    oo tama. badtrip talaga yan smart na yan. pero teh past few montsh ok ang connection kaso lintek sa bagal. yun cnasabi nila na 256 until naw hidne ko pa nararamdaman. and tama yun mga tech supprt agents nila eh mga scripted and sagot at puro sorry lang ang alam isagot. pag nag followup ka tama din kayo iababalik ka nila sa walanvgyang troublshooting na ilan beses ko na sinabi na kaya ako tumawag sa kanila dahil ginawa ko na lahat ng basic troubleshooting. I-try nyo paikutin yun agent about techy stuff sa IT na connected sa networking tgnan nyo hinde makaksagot yun agent. hehehe

    eto ang pinaka favorite ko nas tanong sa kanila….

    AGENT: ano po ba ang email add nyo sir?

    ME: baket ko naman Ellogin yun webmail account ko sa website nyo? hinde yaat pwede yun

    AGENT: Sir ganun po talaga, dapat smartwifi lang po ang gagamitin nyo na email account. otherwise hinde po talaga pwede. Bibigyan ko nalnag po kayo ng email address.

    grabe sobrang bagal ng connection ko since last night pa! i checked my connection speed on globequest and to my surprise 9 kbps lang! tapos this morning mabagal pa din so i checked it again, 27 kbps!!! i already sent an email to smart bro pero until now wala pa din response! i need to update our website - and for some stupid reason, the page wont load even if im connected on the internet!

    Don’t you ever try to get Smart Bro. This is one of the worst service that you can get. I just subscribed about 2 months ago. Sabi kasi ng friend ko maganda daw(???).

    Reasons:
    1. It took them 2 weeks before re-installing my connection.
    2. They have a customer care service that doesn’t know what they are doing. Parang meron lang binabasa yong mga tao nila na paulit-ulit lang pag tumawag ka.
    3. Pag malas ka and you need to relocate…you have to pay P2,000 but without an assurance na me connection sa lugar mo. Pag walang connection sa Smart na yong P2,000 mo.
    4. Kahit wala kang connection o mabagal…pwede mong pa disconnect BUT YOU HAVE TO PAY THE 12 MONTHS - IN SHORT P12K.
    5. Don’t be fooled by those Meridian people…kasi nag-offer na rin sa akin yong mga yon ng ganong service…for P1k, pero pag nakabit na nila at nawalan ka ng connection…intay ka ulit forever.

    Just my two cents…

    DO NOT GET SMART BRO!!!

    SMART WIFI is really f u c k e d up. For more than 2 weeks, i really cant surf and do my work properly.. ive been calling up their tech support for the past 3 days, but it seems that all they can say is that theyll just put a “follow up” on their reports and escalate it to someone… what a lousy ISP if you ask me guys… cant really do any good with this kind of connection… as a suggestion, all of the SMART WIFI/SMART BRO subscribers out there, CHANGE YOUR ISPs!

    your service… and they are all negative nothing to tell about
    a good service… I want to share my experience with smart bro..
    I also experience their very slow action for the complaints…
    I told the operator that i experience disconection from the
    server and a very low signal i received… they told me that it
    would not last for a week and they will fix it..
    bit now its month ago and still experienced the same problem..
    Smart bro must should do something… I still beleive that you can
    can give a better service to your subscriber.. thanksss

    they allso get their smpt mixed with their smtp mixed in their emails also pop ,pop3 ,pop.smartwifi.com.ph ,pop3.smartwifi.net and so many more in their emails .I even got in and out for xpress as pop.smartwifi.net .

    hello guyz!! i see all your comments… and i also experience that for about 1 month.. and i always called the operator for technical support and still got the dc prob.. in the internet… but on last week of June.. i experience that the internet connection is back to normal.. and the speed is much faster.. I research and knowing that they upgraded there service for better performance… first week of July the connection is really amazing.. i can play Tantra while others is watching buffering movies like in youtube & dailymotion.. i was amaze i got only plan 999 of smartbro with 10 PC’s.. sharing internet connection.. and we only got 256kbps to 384kbps connection… why it is 384kbps? because smartbro stuff said that the connection of smartbro reaches 384kbps.. with good weather and good system performance..

    I am not sure with you but lately, we are experiencing login problems with SmartBro. Everytime we open the PC to connect, it is redirected to Smart login page and laging nag ta time out bago makaconnect, naka sampung disconnection / timeout ang nangyayari.

    Kayo rin ba ganun? Kainis na e. Forever naman ang customer service hotline pag tinawagan mo. Forever kang maghihintay sa tagal nila sumagot ng phone.

    tama kayo nakaka-inis talaga ang service ng smartbro! On my first month na naka-subscribe sa kanila mabilis talaga pero on the 2nd month up to now wala talaga napaka bagal. Balak ko na nga mag-change provider pero iniisip ko lang yung contract na 1 year di pa kasi ako abot eh, ok lang kaya kung wag ko na bayaran para mapilitan sila na i-terminate na lang??? nakaka inis kasi eh.

    Tama kayo mga subscribers, kagaya ko agent pa naman di ako nagpakabit ng smartbroken na yan.Ang dami kung nabasa halos Mga Negative Comments about this broadband service.Kahit mga Clients ko wala pang 1 week ayon txt ng txt sa akin wala daw connection.As an agent alam ko lahat tungkol sa wireless internet or wireless networking.I do have my own wireless setup like as bridge…configuring the canopy settings, Ip dynamic Ip, router, sharing, etc etc. At ito mga SmartBroken…Nagshare kayong lahat sa isang server yun ang reason bumabagal yung connection nyo..lahat nang Pc users ngayon marunong ng magdownload.1 cellsite has 6 servers on it..kaso pag ikaw ay napunta sa server na doon marami ang user na mahilig mag download don ka mabubwisit.Kahit nga wired connection bumabagal pa naman, how much more if it is wireless tapus shared pa.1 server 384kbps lagay natin 20 users lang tapos 10 users doon mga mahilig mag download…hahahahaha.Ito ang sabi ni Smart 384kbps..yun ang speed advertized speed nila..hindi 384kbps per subscriber…384 pinaghatihati ninyo lahat ang server na may 384 bandwidth at isa pa walang CIR o commited Information Rate na binigay ni Smart..so pag downtime talagang down ang speed mo hanggang 2kbps.So dapat magbigay cla nang CIR kahit half of the advertzd sped nila pwedi na.If you want to have internet connection with CIR subscribe to smart corporate o enterprise edition 388kbps with CIR at email add at php 2,200 or 588kbps @ php6,200/months yun talagang may CIR at both has its own Dynamic IP, kagaya ng Bro na yan Static IP lang yan naka DHCP kasi shared bandwidth at connection.. Ano ? did you get my point?I hope malinaw lahat so if your planning to get 1 then accept the conditions.If you are an IT or a computer wizard make sure you know your canopy IP at saka Server IP para naman ma check mo always yung connection mo.

    Smart being a PLDT company suffers from the same problems. They give all the hype for their products then leave you when it fails. My father put up an internet cafe and subscribed to the PLDT DSL Biz, we were exasperated with the service, walang connection then they didn’t send their technical reps, we were losing money so we decided to switch to MyDestiny. We informed PLDT through email then they tried to charge us with a disconnection fee. My father is a lawyer and I’m taking up law, wag kayong matakot sa disconnection fee nila. You can always report them to NTC and DTI. Sila ang di makapagcomply sa obligation nila so YOU are the one entitled to damages and not them. We should file a class action suit against PLDT, sa US di pwede ang ganyang service.

    hello guys, smart bro din ang connection ko sa bahay. actually tapos na ang 1 year contract namin dun, sinabihan ko si mama na palitan na lang ng globe or other dsl kasi ang panget talaga ng connection as in. pero wala akong magawa, smart bro lang yung pinakamura sa lugar namin.

    pero the heck, kung tutuusin mas lugi sa smart bro kasi nagbabayad ka on time pero lagi naman dc ang internet. walang quality! unlike others na ok lang kung medyo mahal basta tuloy-tuloy at mabilis ang connection diba??!!!!!!!

Sabi pa ng agent nila, hindi nila makita ung new address ko sa map nila. what the f**k? around city proper? Hindi makikita? Good God! hindi naman from city to mountain ang relocation. CITY TO CITY!

    isa lang ang naiisip kong magandang benefit d2 kay bro. halos matututunan mo lahat ng troubleshooting sa PC. kc kala mo may problem pc mo. pag hindi ka marunong magreformat at magreinstall windows matututunan mo. In the end you will discover ung internet connection mo pala problema… pero so far nagimprove na. Pag tawag mo at may problema o mabagal connection mo, mabilis maschedule home visite. Pag naschedule ko for home visit aayos ng kusa o bibilis ng kusa ang connection mo. Pag dating ng contractor sasabihin sa yo wala namang problema. Then after a day.. magluluko na naman yung connection mo…. parang naglolokohan lang kayo.. hahaha… Sana lagi kayo magupdate ng comment para yung balak magpakabit eh aware kung ano binibili nilang problema. hahaha ulit…

    1. Lahat ng dsl provider ay may downtime or bumabagal.
    2. kung lahat ng dsl provider ay may downtime, pumili kayo ng provider na maganda ang service incase nagdowntime or may sira ang connection or mabagal? Globe, Pldt, bayantel, etc., ba ito?

    2. Para sa akin bayantel. Sila ang pinakamabilis na magbalik ng connectiong ng dsl ko. Kung di nila maayos within 24 hours, may rebate kang 500 peses sa next billing mo? meron ba ang globe or pldt yan?

    ang globe maganda lang kapag sa ortigas area ka at makati area. Ask globe kung bakit maganda sa area na yan kc business center.

    PLDT, 10 years bago nila ausin ang tawag mo… minsan 1 week umaabot at kung malasmalasin ka pa 2 weeks.. hays…

    smart bro, may location na maganda ang connection. kung malasmalasin ka pa naku makakamura ka ng ng CS at mabibitin lang panunuod mo ng scandal sa sobrang bagal ng connection.

    Di po ito opinion… ito po ay base on actual exprinces ng mga friends kung may globe, pldt at smart bro. kaya u decide kung ano maganda? mag concentrate kau sa service hindi sa spead and connection kc lahat sila may downtime..

    ako bayan dsl at mga friends ko nag switch na sa bayan dsl… so far, so good. wala ako downtime dito sa samapaloc, QC naman mga friends ko…

    di lahat ng are may bayan kaya tawag kau sa bayantel 412 12 12…
