Globe and Smart Unlimited text messaging temporarily suspended

The unlimited text messaging and voice call promotions of both Smart and Globe will be temporarily suspended this holiday season, the Philippines’ National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) said.

The move was undertaken apparently to prevent network abuse during Christmas and New Year, the time when text messages and voice calls are expected to double, the NTC added.

Globe and Touch Mobile’s (TM) unlimited night calls will not be in effect starting 11 in the evening of December 30 up to six in the morning of January 1, 2009 while Smart’s All Text Combo with Unlimited Night Calling Promo will not be available on December 30, 31 and January 1, 2009.

Meanwhile, the top officials of the NTC, Smart Communications Inc., and Globe Telecom Inc. are facing a congressional inquiry for the purported suspension of call-and-text promo packages at the peak of the holiday season.

F*cking a$$holes! All they think of is themselves. Here’s a hint, Mukamo members: DUMP THE BAST*RDS!!! Imagine if some kind of emergency situation befalls on you and you need emergency help during the time service is suspended and you can only communicate through using your cellphone! This is very unacceptable! They are robbing and short-changing the Filipino consumers once again. And why is there no legislation against this? And the bigger question is why are we taking this abuse?

kayo naman hayaan nio na muna sila…siguro kaya ganun para mapagbigyan naman yung iba na makapasok sa network during that day. come to think of it, if ever kayo malagay sa position ng mga nasa ibang bansa na di makacontact just to greet their family kahit in a few minutes lang kasi sobrang busy ng network sa pinas. siguro that is why they used to suspend temporarily that promo. wag din kayong sakim noh…minsan ang tao pag pinagbibigyan masyadong umaabuso naman. wag ganun kaya nagkakakrisis sa atin eh…ok peace. happy new year to all1 (comment lang po walang personalan).

What they did was right. Aanhin mo naman ang UNLIMITED TEXT AND CALLS kapag congested ang network diba?

Dapat siguro sinabi muna nila sa PUBLIC na wala muna ang promo nila para walang miscommunication.
