Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is an alien in Marvel’s Secret Invasion
In the current issue of Marvel Comics’ “Secret Invasion,” President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was portrayed as a “Skrull,” an alien race.
Also portrayed as “Skrulls” in the said comic book were Barack Obama, John Mc Cain, Tom Cruise, Oprah Winfrey and Stephen Colbert. Leinil Francis Yu, the Filipino artist who crafted the comic book said that he included the president as merely a shout out to all the Filipino readers of Secret Invasion. “Nothing politically tainted about GMA being there. It’s just a nod to fellow Pinoys.” said Yu. “Secret Invasion” is one the most popular comic book series of Marvel today, wherein it features other superheroes like Spiderman, Ironman, and Wolverine. It was launched last August 13.
