GMA Network gets 6 medals from New York Festivals

GMA Network brought home five medals from the 2008 New York Festivals for Television Programming held Friday night at the Tribeca Rooftop in Lower Manhattan in New York City.

GMA’s Reporter’s Notebook got a gold medal for its episode, “Batang Kalakal”. The I-Witness teams of Sandra Aguinaldo and Howie Severino each got a silver medal for episodes “Iskul Ko No. 1,” and “Huling Hala Bira!,” respectively. GMA reporter Jun Veneracion’s story, “Engkuwentro,” featured in Reporter’s Notebook, received a bronze medal. An episode in Emergency, “Mga Batang Nagsusunog,” got a bronze medal, which is a United Nations Development Program special award under the New York Festivals. Lastly, director Louie Ignacio won a Gold World Medal for the “Power to Unite” music video, which was produced by Elvira Go for the National Bible Quiz Inc. Although the music video wasn’t produced by GMA, the footage that they used in the said video was provided by GMA. Other finalists include QTV’s “At Your Service, Star Power,” “Sana’y Muling Makapiling” and “Sapulso,” and GMA 7’s “Art Angel,” “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” and “Tok! Tok! Tok! Isang Milyon Pasok!”
