This is just in. The Filipino Flash Nonito Donaire Jr. was beaten by Cuban Guillermo Rigondeaux via unanimous decision.
The judges’ scorecards — 114-113, 115-112, 116-111. Rigondeaux was just too fast and skillful for Donaire although the latter scored a knock down in the 10th round.
Donaire dropped to 31-2 while Rigondeaux remains undefeated at 12-0. Prior to turning pro, Rigondeaux has one of the most impressive amateur records in history, scoring more than 400 wins and just 12 losses and winning Olympic gold in both 2000 and 2004 for Cuba.
