How to get to El Nido, Palawan – Philippines

El Nido in Palawan was recently named as the one of the Philippines’ best beaches and islands by CNNGo, the travel news website of the Cable News Network.

It’s got powder-fine beaches and gin-clear waters with majestic karst limestone formations, empty lagoons, marble cliffs, prehistoric caves and waterfalls.

If you’re the type who doesn’t want to avail package tours from travel agencies and would rather plan the trip on your own, the information below might help you:

Airlines that fly from Manila to El Nido (Flight time: approximately 75 minutes):

Domestic flights (El Nido-Manila)

Chartered plane (El Nido-Manila)
– Island Transvoyager

There are tricycles at the El Nido airport that can take you to town. There is also a marina nearby that can take you to the islands.

Alternatively, you can fly to Puerto Princesa and from there you take a multi-cab or jeep to the San Jose Terminal (20 minutes) where you will find El Nido-bound buses. The fare is about 300 pesos and will take approximately 8 hours.

– Cebu Pacific
– Air Philippines
– Zest Air

AirAsia also flies to Puerto Princesa but takes off from Clark in Pampanga.
