Iloilo Vice Governor Rolex Suplico filed an impeachment complaint Thursday afternoon against Commission on Elections (COMELEC) chairman Benjamin Abalos Sr. who has been accused of offering bribes to a Cabinet official and a businessman for an allegedly overpriced deal with China.
Suplico claimed to have a “solid” case against the Comelec chairman based on the testimonies of De Venecia III and Neri, including what he called a “series of unfortunate incidents,” such as Abalos’ presence at a number of meetings on the NBN project.
