Is there a typhoon in the Philippines today?

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said there is no typhoon despite the continuous rains.

It is caused, however, by a low pressure area or LPA. The good news is there will be less rain today as the low-pressure area has reportedly left the country. It is expected to move northwest towards the South China Sea today.
