Italian Tenor Luciano Pavarotti dies of pancreatic cancer

The world’s most famous tenor, Luciano Pavarotti, has died at the age of 71 after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer.

He died at his home in Modena, Italy, at 5 a.m. local time. Mr. Pavarotti became a popular celebrity via the “Three Tenors” concerts with Plácido Domingo and José Carreras.
