It’s La Salle and UE in the finals of UAAP Season 70

The De La Salle Green Archers snatched the remaining UAAP finals berth with a 65-60 win over their archrival Ateneo Blue Eagles Sunday in their final face off this season at the Araneta Coliseum.

Before facing the Archers for the last two successive games, Ateneo beat defending champions UST Growling Tigers as arranged by the tournament’s step ladder format.

As good and as impressive La Salle’s win was, I don’t think they’d be able to match up- team-wise against UE.
Now, I’m not saying that the Green ARchers don’t play team basketball - it was very evident throughout the season that the team has jelled well despite a year off, but then again the Red WEarriors are different.
You have a bunch of silver-spoon fed guys playing with one another- one way or the other egos will be a factor, unlike UE- a bunch of ragtag boys just happy (and most probably can’t beleive) to be where they are.
For UE to win, they need to stop La Salle’s inside game especially Maierhofer and get Casio and Tang out of their rhythm. They also should force La Salle’s bench to prove that they are at par with theirs.
For La Salle, the key is for them to control the boards and let them dictate the game, they shouldn’t allow UE to force them into a physical and dragging game.

(my fearless forecast - UE in 2 with an average margin of 8-11 points)

HEY GAME_OVER next time don’t even attempt to forecast because you make me sick with your senseless views….last time I looked its LA SALLE in Two games….The raging warrior sweepers got swept! Such a sweet victory for the Archers! Its just too bad the blue eagles lost again in their fervent hope that La Salle will be stopped. Well only in your dreams perhaps? So give up na kayo and just admit that we are better….always. ANIMO LA SALLE!!!
