Joey Chestnut unseats Takeru Kobayashi in hot dog eating contest
American Joey Chestnut beat Japanese six-time defending hot-dog-eating champ Takeru Kobayashi at the 92nd Annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest on Coney Island Wednesday afternoon.
Chestnut shattered his previous world record of 59, set earlier this year by wolfing down 66 hot dogs and buns in just 12 minutes to win the coveted yellow mustard belt title. Kobayashi on the other hand, ate 63 hot dogs and buns.
