Kidnapped Italian priest Giancarlo Bossi released
The Rev. Giancarlo Bossi, 57, an Italian missionary priest kidnapped more than a month ago has been released by a renegade group of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) members in Karamutan municipality around 9 p.m.
The released happened following negotiations with rogue elements of a Muslim separatist group, Philippine police said Friday. He was kidnapped on June 10 while on his way to celebrate Mass in the Southeast Asian nation’s volatile south. He was freed around 9 p.m. (1300 GMT) Thursday in Karumatan township, in Lanao Del Norte province near the boundary with Lanao Del Sur province, said Chief Superintendent Jaime Caringal, a regional police commander.

I am glad Fr Bossi was released. I just can’t believe he was released just like that, without giving the MILF something in exchange. You must admit it’s perfect timing with GMA SONA in a few days.
