LTFRB gives go-signal for implementation of taxi receipts

The Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will start the full implementation of the issuance of receipts to taxicab passengers after the Supreme Court cited that the system is legal and is for the passenger’s welfare and safety.

Each receipt must have the following:

1. Name, address and telephone number of the taxi operator
2. Taxicab’s plate number
3. Date of the trip
4. Actual time when the passenger boarded the taxi
5. Distance of the trip (in kilometers)
6. The total fare amount

The receipts will be issued at no additional cost to passengers as it will be shouldered by the taxi operators. The president of the Association of Taxi Operators of Metro Manila, Leonora Naval said that they are prepared to follow the Supreme Court ruling.
