Manny Villar to run for president in 2010

Senate President Manny Villar reportedly confirmed that he will run for president of the Philippines in the May 2010 elections.

“Oo, tuloy na tayo sa 2010 sa pagka-presidente.. Wala nang urungan” said Villar when asked about his plans for 2010.

Villar has been doing relatively well in recent surveys on who the public wants to be the next president after Macapagal-Arroyo. He placed third behind Vice President de Castro and Senator Legarda in a survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) last June 27 to 30, 2008.
