Maricris Garcia: Pinoy Pop Superstar Year 3 Champion
18-year-old Maricris Garcia was named Pinoy Pop Superstar grand champion last night at the Araneta Coliseum.
He bested Bryan Termulo in their final showdown where they both sang Barry Manilow’s “One Voice”. Maricris Garcia who hails from Caloocan City took home Php 4 million worth of prizes which includes a house and lot from Avide Corp, an Informatics scholarship, PhP100,000 worth of services from the Belo Medical Group, one million pesos in cash, a management contract from the GMA-7 Network and a recording contract from GMA Records.

parang medyo luto ata ang PPS ngaun.. after the final four they said that scores where back to zero.. from my point of view, and a lot of people I’ve asked agrees with me, Bryan sang “One Voice” better that Maricris.. How come he didn’t win?? Well,, I guess everybody expected that she would win because even before the finals night, she was already the favorite…

si maricirs talaga ang deserving manalo sa pps. Una ko pa lang siyang mapanood sa eliminations talagang may star quality siya among sa mga contestants. me being a voice instructor, nakita ko yung uniqueness niya and her style sa singing. Alam niya ang tamang paraan ng pagpeperform sa stage. unlike sa iba na pilit at walang style sa pagkanta basta na lamang birit.

yup korek..di xa deserving simula nung nanalo xa sya na ung favorite d naman xa belter kung kumanta and mas magaling talaga ung version ni bryan..get up guys totoo naman eh..khit anu p man eto lang masasabi ko…d rin yan sisikat wala kcing xfactor maganda nga pero walng power ung character nya like viray n gerald..dba tama aq ehehe…walang ka2lad ng impact n ginawa n sarah simple but great….peace out!!!

Maricris really deserve the title pinoy pop superstar. she has a unique Voice, unique style when she sing. she doesnt need to make birit. for me, hindi kailangan bumirit! Mali ung ganun. I enrolled in many Voice lessons class one is Center for pop phil. and Ryan Cayabyab music and they always tell us, the students na iminimize ang pagbirit kasi hindi daw porket bumibirit ka eh magaling ka na and sure win ka pagsumali ka sa isang contest. importante daw na malinis ang pagkakanta, clear ung words and the most important daw eh kung pano mo iinterpret ung song. “hindi kailangan bumirit para maipakita ang galing” - danny tan at “hindi kailangan mataas para manalo” - regine velasquez (napanood ko yan nung sinabi nila danny tan and regine velasquez sa pinoy pop..)

bryan’s voice has no dynamics, if he’ll win..he would just end up like Gerald Santos.. Maricris “arang medyo luto ata ang PPS ngaun.. after the final four they said that scores where back to zero” — the contest format has always been like that (scored back to zero in final four) and if the contest was fabricated miguel might have won.

Maricris definitely deserve the title Pinoy Pop Superstar…although all the contestants were all good Maricris outshines them all..she has this unique style in singing & her voice is really soothing. And she doesn’t have to make “birit” to showcase her talent & to bag the title…she did her own style of singing. And besides the final song, One Voice, was original song by a man (Barry Manilow) so it will really sound better when sang by a man…but still Maricris was able to pull it off and sang it more clearly than Brian.
Congrats Maricris! More success & keep your very nice attitude….
