Aside from consistently topping the primetime race, Marimar once again reached the elusive 40-plus rating. Meanwhile, in spite of ABS-CBN’s constant promotion of their three new primetime shows, Palos, Lobo, and Kung Fu Kids still failed to topple the very strong lineup of GMA-7’s primetime programs.

Ratings are not indicators of quality, ratings dont indicate how good in terms of quality a show is. It indicates the success. It dosent necessarily mean, if d ratings are low, that automatically its a bad show, or if the ratings are high, its an incredible show…but unfortubately, the way our business goes, it what people in the industry use as a measurement.. so wag maxadong mag mayabang…

Nakakatawa ang mga kanguso. Ipinagmamayabang ang Nielsen srveys ha. Well kung ganyan ang labanan, I have something for you.
ABS-CBN emerged as the preferred channel among affluent Filipinos (read:mayayaman), teen-age audiences, and families of overseas Filipino workers.
This latest finding was according to the Nielsen Media Research, which conducted a survey aimed to give a clearer picture of the viewing habits of the three market segments cited.
The research and survey was administered through personal interviews around urban areas (read: personal ha, kaya hindi mo madadaya).
Nielsen described the word “affluent” as those viewers who are living in posh “gated villages” with income higher than P50,000 a month. The teens are those who belong to the 13 to 19 age bracket, regardless of economic status, while OFW beneficiaries are those with a family member working overseas.
Conclusions: Mahihirap at matatandang gurang lang ang nanonood ng GMAndaraya. Mas maraming advertisers ang maka-ABS kasi backbone ng economy ng Pilipinas ang mga OFW at mga mayayaman, at mas may “buying power” ang mga bata kasi marami silang hilig.
O, ayan mga Kapusucks, kahit dayain niyo pa ang ratings, mas maraming advertisers at mas malaki ang kita ng ABS-CBN kasi mga MATATALINO AT MAYAYAMAN AT BATA ang nanonood ng shows nila. BAkit ka naman mag-a-advertise ng isang produkto sa isang channel na MAHIHIRAP lang naman ang nanonood? Paano sila kikita e wla nmang pamili ang mga MAHIHIRAP na ‘to?

wala… walang credibilidad ang abs-cbn… puro pandaraya ang alam nyan mapa-noontime shows o kaya sa text messaging polls nila… palakasan pa sa loob kung gusto mong tumaas ang posisyon mo sa trabaho… tsaka, aminado silang laos na artisita nila kasi pinipirata na nila ang mga sikat sa GMA… nde para pasikatin sa channel nila kundi para palausin nang bumagsak ang ratings ng shows sa GMA kasi nga wala na ang sikat sa kanila pero shempre magaling humanap ng talent ang GMA kaya madaling mapapalitan ang piniratang talent… Kelan kaya pipiratahin ng ABS sina Richard Gutierrez, Marian Rivera, Maxine Magalona, Katrina Halili atbp?

Si Joey ay isa lang at hindi sya ang kabuuan ng GMA7 na kaya mag manipula ng isip ng tao na gaya ng ginagawa ng ABS, tama ka nsa korte na. Yun naman dapat talaga ang gawin, at tumahimik na sa tv at na nakakabingi na at antayin desisyon ng korte.Kung me ebidensya at testigo, sa korte i presenta at hindi sa tao sa pamamagitan ng tv o anu pang pamamahayag, sa korte na lng po.

Guys, i don’t usually reply to comments on sites like this. It’s just disappointing because a lot of you guys here talk too much, brag a lot and all without sense. Honestly I am a SOLID KAPAMILYA since I was young. I admit there are good shows in GMA that I watch, like their current affairs shows as well as their documentaries because they’re really good at it, we all know that. One thing I don’t like about GMA, in general, is that they brag a lot. They focus more on black propaganda and demolition jobs against their rivals, not just ABS-CBN. Remember the plots they had towards Kris, Piolo and Sam, Jericho and Heart, and now even KC concepcion. If they are really providing us quality programs and marketable talents, then why engage in tactics like these.. ABS-CBN only aired their disappointment recently because it’s been too much. If you noticed ABS-CBN is not even fond of mentioning GMA. They mind their own business and whatever issues they have with GMA, they try to deal it professionally through their legal department. But tough times require tough decisions, making ABS-CBN’s management decide to let the public know WHAT IS EXACTLY HAPPENING. I’ve lived in Metro Manila and some areas in the Visayas (as where I currently am), and most of the time whenever I pass by houses, all I hear are ABS-CBN shows. If you’ve travelled all over the country like I do, you’ll realize that NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW GMA7’s talents. I know most of the people posting comments here are from the Metro Manila areas,. Let’s broaden our scope, open our minds. If you visit GMA7’s website http://www.igma.tv, their heading shows: Online Home og GMA7: The PHILIPPINE’s NO. 1 TV NETWORK. If you look at it, this is misleading. GMA 7 never reached the NUMBER 1 spot in the nationwide ratings game.. Not even close to ABS-CBN’s numbers.. And they are bragging that they are NUMBER 1 in Mega Manila, which comprises 75% of the viewing public - another misleading information. This statement from GMA only considers the number of panel homes that AGB had mounted nationwide. This is just 75% of all AGB meters, and these are on select homes only, not even 5 percent of the total viewing public.

I strongly disagree. What made Marimar hit is the fact that Marian is a fresh entry in the primetime block, and not because she acts well. You can honestly admit that she needs intensive acting workshops.

remember when did GMA7 shows (with host i think) had pin-up buttons??? (tama b?) No1. tayo kapuso ata nkalagay. baka dun ng start yung manipulation/brainwashing sa tingin ko lng. on the other side sa ABS i noticed they only have this phil flag buttons. and all the years i’ve watched ABS, wla silang ganung klaseng… di ko lam tawag haha. basta di tulad sa GMA.
and.. kelan din b nglalabas or ng aair mga stations na ngsasabi sila no.1 sa ratings? ang alam ko GMA ngstart then sumasagot ABS.

Guys, i don’t usually reply to comments on sites like this. It’s just disappointing because a lot of you guys here talk too much, brag a lot and all without sense.
Honestly I am a SOLID KAPAMILYA since I was young. I admit there are good shows in GMA that I watch, like their current affairs shows as well as their documentaries because they’re really good at it, we all know that.
One thing I don’t like about GMA7, in general, is that they brag a lot. They focus more on black propaganda and demolition jobs against their rivals, not just ABS-CBN.
Remember the plots they had towards Kris, Piolo and Sam, Jericho and Heart, and now even KC concepcion.If they are really providing us quality programs and marketable talents, then why engage in tactics like these..
ABS-CBN only aired their disappointment recently because it’s been too much. If you noticed ABS-CBN is not even fond of mentioning GMA. They mind their own business and whatever issues they have with GMA, they try to deal it professionally through their legal department.
But tough times require tough decisions, making ABS-CBN’s management decide to let the public know WHAT IS EXACTLY HAPPENING.
I’ve lived in Metro Manila and some areas in the Visayas (as where I currently am), and most of the time whenever I pass by houses, all I hear are ABS-CBN shows.
If you’ve travelled all over the country like I do, you’ll realize that NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW GMA7’s talents.
I know most of the people posting comments here are from the Metro Manila areas,. Let’s broaden our scope, open our minds.
If you visit GMA7’s website , their heading shows: Online Home og GMA7: The PHILIPPINE’s NO. 1 TV NETWORK. If you look at it, this is misleading. GMA 7 never reached the NUMBER 1 spot in the nationwide ratings game.. Not even close to ABS-CBN’s numbers..
And they are bragging that they are NUMBER 1 in Mega Manila, which comprises 75% of the viewing public - another misleading information.
This statement from GMA only considers the number of panel homes that AGB had mounted nationwide. This is just 75% of all AGB meters, and these are on select homes only, not even 5 percent of the total viewing public…..blue-hero Says:

GMA 7 News and Public Affairs bagged five medals, with Kapuso director Louie Ignacio winning the sixth medal, at the New York Festivals, held on Feb. 1.
“Reporter’s Notebook” (RN) hosts Maki Pulido and Jiggy Manicad shared a Gold World medal for the episode “Batang Kalakal.”
“I-Witness” (IW) host Sandra Aguinaldo won a Silver World Medal for “Iskul Ko, No. 1”; cohost Howie Severino also won a Silver for “Huling Hala Bira.”
“Emergency” host Arnold Clavio received the UNDPI Bronze medal for “Mga Batang Nagsusunog.” Clavio’s award was given by the United Nations Department of Public Information.
Reporter Jun Veneracion won a Bronze Medal for “Engkuwentro,” aired on RN.
Lastly, “SOP,” “Pinoy Idol” and “Sis” director Louie Ignacio won a Gold World Medal for the “Power to Unite” music video, which was produced by Elvira Go for the National Bible Quiz Inc.
“Although it wasn’t produced by the network, I am very grateful to GMA 7 News and Public Affairs for providing the footage we used,” Ignacio told Inquirer Entertainment in a phone interview before his flight to New York on Wednesday. “It’s the first time for a Filipino to win in the Entertainment category.”
Ignacio, Manicad, Pulido, Aguinaldo, Clavio, Veneracion, along with executive producers Johnson Tam of RN and Ella Evangelista of IW, traveled to Manhattan to personally accept the awards at the gala held at the Tribeca Rooftop on Friday.
GMA 7 and QTV merited an unprecedented 14 nominations in this year’s festival.
Other finalists include QTV’s “At Your Service, Star Power,” “Sana’y Muling Makapiling” and “Sapulso,” and GMA 7’s “Art Angel,” “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” and “Tok! Tok! Tok! Isang Milyon Pasok!”
“GMA has never had [14] nominations before at the NY fest,” said Nessa Valdellon, vice president for Public Affairs. “No local network has brought home five medals. It’s an unexpected blessing.

PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) received AGB Nielsen’s ratings in NUTAM (Nationwide Urban TV Audience Measurement), Mega Manila, Metro Manila, and the Suburbs from January 27 to February 2, 2008.
ABS-CBN’s Kung Fu Kids ruled the NUTAM, which is based on sample homes all over the country, with 37.1 percent. Lobo came in second with 36.3 percent. Third place went to Marimar with 32.7 percent, followed by TV Patrol World with 31.6 percent and Palos with 29.3 percent.

Kahit na may issue sa dayaan, makikitang no.1 pa rin nationally ang mga programs ng ABS-CBN sa primetime. Masasabing ABS-CBN country pa rin ang Pilipinas. Hanggang ngayon, ang pinagtataka ng DaveChannel ay, kung merong National TV ratings bakit palaging Mega Manila TV Ratings lang ang pinalalabas? Bakit palaging binabandera ang Mega Manila Ratings at hindi ang National TV Ratings? Bakit? Mas importante ba ang ang TV Ratings ng Mega Manila kaysa TV Ratings ng boong Pilipinas? O natatakot ba silang hindi magiging no.1 ang GMA-7 kung national TV Ratings ang ilalabas? Kung totoong no.1 sila, dapat National TV Ratings ang ipalabas para magka alaman na kung sino talaga ang pinapanonood ng sambayanang Pilipino at hindi ng Mega Manila lang. Ang Sa Amin Lang: Hindi Pilipinas ang Mega Manila!

hay naku no. 1 talaga ang GMA dahil sa sobrang the best nilang mga palabas lalong-lalo na ang Coffee Prince at Marimar!! at no. 1 din ang ABSCBN sa pandaraya ng ratings!! yuck!!!!!!

I started on a whole kapamilya,
