27-year-old Swiss tennis player and former world number 1 Martina Hingis announced on Thursday that she tested positive for cocaine earlier this year in the Wimbledon Championships.

She denied the allegations in a statement Thursday saying, “I find this accusation so horrendous, so monstrous, that I have decided to confront it head-on by talking to the press.” and “I am frustrated and angry. I believe that I am absolutely, one hundred percent innocent.” she added. Despite her protests, Hingis said she doesn’t want to fight officials or try to battle back from injuries, and instead she’ll be retiring for good from the sport of tennis.
