May 2, 2011 not a holiday – Philippines

Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda answered queries on whether May 2, 2011 will be considered a holiday since May 1, Labor Day, falls on a Sunday.

“May 2 is a regular working day,” he said. So sad to say “may pasok” in the Philippines on that day, which means cancellation of your holiday plans.

Even a no-brainer could think of no better way to commemorate labor day than an actual no work day for a country whose greater population are NOT EMPLOYERS/INVESTORS but mere employees/laborers! hay naku…marami na akong kakilala na nagsisisi y they voted him at ung iba, even denied they voted him…tsk..tsk..

    Under Proclamation 2043, Labor Day shall be observed on a nearest Monday, which happens to be on May 2. If i am right, May 2 SHOULD BE A HOLIDAY.
