Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2006 Winners
The 32nd Metro Manila Film Festival was not spared of the controversy which seems to be an MMFF tradition.
This after Enteng Kabisote 3 bagged the Best Picture award. This is because one of the criteria this year for the said award was its performance on the box office which made up 40% of the total score. This prompted protest from the producers of some of the filmfest entries.

Pag sinabing best picture

watch out for ANG PAGDADALAGA NI MAXIMO OLIVEROS, yun ang ipinadala ng pinas
sa OSCARs for best foreign language film, at isa pang balita, kaaanounce lang,
nominated ang ANG PAGDADALAGA NI MAXIMO OLIVEROS sa 2007 INDEPENDENT SPIRIT AWARDS,
AND TAKE NOTE,kalaban niya ang THE LIVES OF OTHERS (Germany) na isa sa mga frontrunners
ng OSCARS for bert FLF. haha!

what do you expect when the main criteria for best picture is 40% for box office gross receipts?
really a pathetic film festival and they have the gall to impose it on everyone else by having just their movies shown.

for me, as a mass communication student.
i should say, manila film festival did their best to have a best movie but then in terms of awarding the best among the rest is not necessarily good or i should say “not Fair” because i’ve seen or watch the manila film festival entries.
they must know how to judge the movie by their pictures because it is so important in terms of movie making.
