The selection committee of the Metro Manila Film Festival-Philippines has revealed the 8 selected film projects that are included in the upcoming 34th Metro Manila Film Festival-Philippines 2008.

After a thorough and rigorous deliberation that was held at the Manila City Room, 2nd floor ng MMDA building, Makati City, the chairperson of the selection committee, Julie Borje announced the 8 official entries and they are:

“Baler” (Viva Communications)
“Dayo” (Cutting Edge Productions)
“Desperadas 2″ (Regal Entertainment)
“Escaleras and Ungasis: 20 Years After” (OctoArts Films)
“Magkaibigan” (Maverick Films)
“One Night Only” (Canary Films)
“Shake, Rattle and Roll 10″ (Regal Entertainment)
“Tanging Ina N’yong Lahat” (Star Cinema)

One of the eight entries, Dayo is a digital animation film and this is the first time in the history of the said festival that an animation movie was included. Borje added that there are 3 criteria that were used in the selection, Story creativity, commercial viability and Filipino cultural values of the movie.
