Michael V graces cover of Reader’s Digest (Asian Edition)

Comedian Michael V is on the cover of the September 2008 issue of Reader’s Digest, becoming only the 2nd Filipino to achieve that feat (the first one was former President Cory Aquino).

Reader’s Digest is a widely read general interest family magazine, which started in the United States and has international editions, including Asia. The comedian said he was so surprised because he thought the magazine would only write a feature story about his life. “Parang ‘di ako makapaniwala kasi may nagpadala ng sulat regarding the cover. Sabi pangalawang Pinoy palang daw ako na mag co-cover.” he said. “So parang di ko alam gagawin ko talaga. Kasi alam ko lang may feature. ‘Di ko alam na mag co-cover pala.” he added. He is a mainstay of GMA Network’s gag show Bubblegang and he is also the host of Bitoy’s Yari Ka.

    Napaghahalata ko na tong mukamo, selective posting ang ginagawa. Alam ko na ang mga contributions ko ay sarcastically provocative against mga kapamilya, pero yong iba dyan, majority of them kapamilya, exhibits blatant disregard of others feeling and most of them are profanity filled, yet they still have their piece posted.     somehow i doubt it because reader’s digest’s circulation is not that much extensive logistically and its market share is lower by worldwide standards so i dont think it s pretty much at par with the achievements of abs cbn. kung makapasok siya sa oprah, britain’s got talent or kay ellen baka pa.

    You were supposed to be non-partisan… That you would cater to everyone regardless of their affiliations. A Medium, hence the word middle, middleman, in between, neutral, etc… That you will abide by the very oath you have sworn.

    I have witnessed the Marcos era when media was a forgotten profession. When media was nothing more but an adornment for the benefit of the dictator. That very same treatment is being applied here.
