Miss Universe 2009 winner to be crowned in Bahamas

Eighty four candidates will be vying for the Miss Universe 2009 title and the coronation of the winner will be held Sunday (Monday morning in Manila, Philippines) at the Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas.

Experts have chosen this year’s favorites — Colombia, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Turkey, Indonesia, Venezuela, the Netherlands, South Africa, Angola and the United States. Our very own Miss Philippines Bianca Manalo is predicted to do well in the swimsuit and question-and-answer portion. Find out who will win the pageant via ABS-CBN’s live telecast, which starts at 9:30AM.

    no Asian countries made it to the Top 15 this year. sayang talaga because Philippines, China, India and Indonesia were strong delegates. I think it will be between Australia and Dominican Republic for the title…unless sumablay sila sa Q&A. parang ang informal ng show ngayon ng Miss U bacause of those performers…I will wait for the Miss World na lang.

    agree ako sa yo!!!!! pangit ng mga judges !!!!!di marunong pumili,but i think deserving naman talaga ang miss venezuela, but its not deserving na walang asian countries ang nakuha.

    hay naku.. dapat speak mga latinas ng english..advantage sa kanila na language nila gamit nila.. d need wori sa grammars.. dami naman retokada sa kanila….dami pretty grls sa asia at mas smart pa..la retoke..

    Puro na lang Latina! Lakas ng laban sana ng Miss Philippines and Indonesia,sayang talaga! Bwisit! Oo nga,advantage sa kanila na mother language nila yung ginagamit nila kapag sa Q n A. Advantage din na may interpreter kasi pwede niyang ideliver yung answer ng mas maganda,unlike kung English at kinakabahan ka. Para patas magEnglish na lang lahat since Miss U ito at hindi Miss LATINA.

    Tsaka bawal na din dapat yung nagpaparetoke,kaya nga Beauty Pagent,dapat ‘genuine-looks’. Hmmmmmpp talaga. Sayang si Bianca,tsak tsk ang bangis pa man din niya sa Preliminary Swimsuit Competition.

    This year has been so pro European! 9 out of the 15 semifinalists are fr0m eur0pe. Its the judges that need a revamp. M0st judges are American celebs, sana may mga judges fr0m other c0ntinents. Very pr0mising ang mga Asian delegates but sadly the pro Eur0pean judges were n0t impressed.
    I h0pe it w0nt take f0rever h0ping the Philippines land kahit semifinals man lang.
    We have a lot to give m0re than latinas can.
