Mutya ng Pilipinas 2008 Winners
The Mutya ng Pilipinas 2008 finals and coronation night was held in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, last December 7.
Here are the winners:

Miss OPMB People’s Choice – Jonavi Quiray
Jam Charish Libatog will be competing in the upcoming 12th Miss Tourism International 2008 World Final, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on December 31.
Mutya ng Pilipinas is headed by Roberto de Venecia with the help of Renee Salud and Alberto Abesamis.

it was a hometown decision. jonavi quiray dont deserve the title. the miss talent were also bagged by a palawenya. there are more beautiful,intellectual,and kind hearted finalists. she’s not spontaneous.. i’ve known her from the start. her answers to every questions are all scripted. not to mention that she’s so mayabang. she was like janina san miguel. but janina is even prettier and humble. the pageant was like a bikini contest,they crowned the least beautiful and the least intellectual. it was so disappointing.. i hope puerto princesa city wont hold any national pageant such as this.. the national beauty pageants nowadays sets lower standards.. sad to say this,

honestly, I was rooting for candidate no. 1 katrina grace rigets…
she was the 2006 miss philippines water….
crowned along miss ginger conejero who is a showbiz segment reporter at ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol world as miss philippines air
and miss catherine untalan who became a runner up in the miss earth pageant as miss philippines earth that year…
with regards to this mutya, I liked Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism-Puerto Princesa – Jam Charish Libatog’ answer than rigets’….
but then, Mutya ng Pilipinas International 2008 – Jonavi Quiray’s answer was a disaster and it was an insult that they made her win….
she’s not even deserving to be even a runner up…
she’s not that beautiful compared to Miss Photogenic – Loren Andre Fermin Burgos , except that she looked slightly like teen star nina jose of pbb teen edition 1….
but the q&a portion proved her very unworthy of the crown…
so digusting..

Uhm, I think masyadong unfair na sabihing Jonavi does not deserve the crown. She is pretty and intelligent. I don’t believe na niluto ang pageant since it would taint the credibility of Mutya ng Pilipinas Foundation. If you were in the Puerto Princesa City Coliseum during the coronation night, you could tell how gorgeous and beautiful Jonavi during that night and you can do nothing but to admire her. I don’t want to put anyone down but saying that Miss Rigets, who did not even make it to be in the Top 5 should have also won is so BIASED. Besides, as other people here stated, she has been a runner-up in some pageant, which means her beauty is just for a princess and not for a queen at the moment. Jonavi Quiray deserves the crown. Her concise answer may not be that so pleasing to the ears of some pageant fanatics but is it a wrong answer? Compared to others, she has done it very well.

ERRATA: I said a while ago that “…but saying that Miss Rigets, who did not even make it to be in the Top 5…” . Miss Rigets made it to the Top 5. Her beauty is indeed a ‘princess beauty’ not a Queen. I wish for Miss Rigets’ success though. She is pretty. At least to Jonavi.

isa pa nga pala,
kaya nga kami tinatawag na pageant fanatics is because:
1. ibat ibang pageant ang pinapanood namin kaya alam namin kung alin mataas ang standards at kung alin ang hindi…
2. sa dami nakita at napanood naming contestants, alam namin kung sino ang may malaking chance manalo….
3. sa dami ng narinig naming sagot, alam namin kung alin ang katanggap tanggap at aling ang hindi…
4. sa dami ng napanood naming coronation night, alam namin kung luto o hindi
5. hindi limited ang knowledge namin sa local pageants

nga pala, i was in luneta wen hil hernandez of chile won miss earth 2006… tapos I was in up theater wen jesica trisko of canada won in 2007 and finally i was in clark wen karla henry won this year…
so, sa tv lang pala ako nakakapanood ng pageants…..
