MV Princess of the Stars capsizes off Romblon

The MV Princess of the Stars owned by Sulpicio Lines has sunk off in the waters of Sibuyan Island in Romblon.

The ship has 626 passengers and 121 crew on board. It reported experiencing engine trouble at 12:55 p.m. on Saturday, hours before it was reported to have capsized. San Fernando Mayor Nanette Tansingco confirmed that rescuers were able to retrieve the bodies of four passengers and rescued three people. She also added that childrens’ slippers were scattered on the shoreline.

Update: The remaining passengers and crew are still missing.
