The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas or BSP has unveiled the new designs of the Philippine peso bill — 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1,000.

Here are the pictures or photos of the new bills:

The old peso bills can still be used for the next 3 to 4 years. One of the reasons for the new bills is to make it more difficult for counterfeiters as they have already almost perfected the current bills. Design Systemat and Studio 5 reportedly designed the new bills.

    parang ndi ko type ung 500 tska 20, kc malilito mga tao nyan eh ,, ung 20 tska 50 ngayon, nagkakamali pa nga eh.. dapat gawin nyung silver nalang ung 500, then 1000 gold, den add kau ng 10000 bill.. para mas magaan nalang ang isang milyon,, hahah suggestion lang ^^ hehe ^

    “for me i have to praise who made the design. it shows a sign of progression of the Philippine currency. most especially may pagbabago talaga, ok un designs sa likod di magulo, i like the simple idea of Philippine scenery and the picture of animal there. much easier to distinguish,good design, parang yung money nung 70′s but much good the newest design.

    Everyone has shared their own point of views. My turn now & I hope I would be respected as I deserve some like anybody else.

    1st of all, the newly designed Philippine peso bills looks like Euro bills (the way colors are being distributed and faded). It’s good to have something new to look forward to. Something new to our vision but it’s true that it seems overly designed. The report says there are lots of error in the new bills such as:

    1000 peso bill – the location of the Tubbataha Reefs is a few hundred kilometers from where it really is.

    500 peso bill – the Puerto Princesa Subterranean Park appeared to be inland when it is not, the blue-naped parrot bears the wrong colors as the beak should be red and not yellow while the tail should be yellow and not green.

    The scientific names in the new banknotes are also incorrectly written as the scientific name was not italicized and the second word in the name should not begin with a capital letter. Moreover, the map of the Philippines, which is featured on six different bills exclude the Batanes island group.

    My concern is, if one of the purpose of these changes is to improve tourism, then why on earth people in-charge of this stuff did not make sure that everything is accurate.
    These errors affect the impression of other races towards Filipinos!

    Exactly. Changing the designs of Philippine peso bills is a national concern or perhaps worldwide. These are not being widely distributed yet but experts and some observers already noticed the blunders.

    hello spark..its nice that you have emphasized all the errors, and i hope the government will have it corrected in no time. the new bills were supposedly released by the end of 2010 or early 2011, but they were given time to correct the minute errors prior to the release date. but it turned out the the “minute” aren’t minute at all, it degraded once again the honor of the country. fist, the tourism logo, and then this, what made it worst the fact that it is our MONETARY SYMBOL, and it will be carried out to the whole world.

    Sobrang Crowded na po ang design. mas maganda guro kung wala ung map at araw na nakafaded dito. may SEAL nmn sa front d a need pa ung map at araw sa likod.. maganda nmn yung consepto ng design kaya lng pumanget sa sobrang dami ng nilagay..

    i just observed one thing.. why does the banaue rice terraces transfer in 20 peso bill? bakit hindi nag steady sa 1000? ganun na ba kababa ang tingin ninyo sa banaue rice terraces?? ang isang tanawin nati na napabilang sa wonder of the world….isa po ang banaue sa dahilan na nakilala tayo sa mundo..

    like ko yung design ang cute… pinoy na pinoy ang dating.. puro landmarks ng philippines and mga animals na makikita sa place na yun… for me cory is not a hero, mas malaki pa nga nagawa ni marcos. at nung namatay si cory mas marami pa nga nakipaglibing kay FPJ kysa sa knya.. wala naman msyado ngawa si cory.

    kahit pa magbago ang design same value pa din..at kahit bago yan di pa din maiwasan na merong gumawa ng fake..sana inicip muna ninyo kung pano maiiwasan ang fake..madami ng paraan para makagawa ng genuine na papael para sa pera..aanhin mo ang bagong design kung ang palakad ng gobyerno ay luma pa din..??di natin kailangan ang pag babago na mabilisan..idaan natin sa mahabang proseso..

    Yung sa twenty pesos po, wrong spelling ung malacanang palace, ang nakalagay “malacanan palace” kulang ng letter G…. at since pinabata naman ang mga bayani, bakit hindi na lang ginawang “Migs Quezon??” para bumata rin ang pangalan nila.. hahahah.. joke lang.. peace….

    changing the design of our monetary bill will not affect the status of our country as a whole. it is correct that there are some errors made by those who conceptualized the monetary symbol of our new paper bills. maybe they really wanted to promote our tourism and they thought the distribution of the colors as well as the symbols could be a big help in promoting it, but we can’t blame them. Besides it is the people of the republic who have had a big role in doing that. Filipinos are known for being good so no matter what currency we have, for me it is not a big deal. This is just my own point of view..
