Nikon D60 in the Philippines
Nikon just introduced the new D60 DSLR camera which is an entry-level DSLR.
It sports 10.2 effective megapixels and several new features such as an intuitive LCD information display, Nikon’s EXPEED image processing engine, dual dust reduction, in-camera editing tools and more creative options. The D60 joins Nikon’s line of D-series DSLR cameras and shares a form factor similar to the D40 – Nikon’s smallest DSLR to date. The Nikon D60 will be available in February 2008, but pricing information has yet to be announced.

i think this would be an upgrade to d40x with more megapixels, i would still prefer d80 or canon eos 40d i yo have the budget.
i suggest investing on a semi pro dslr bcoz you would get bored with an entry level eventualy just like me.. 40d is the best.

Just got mine @ mayer’s a while ago. Just as Noel said, got it for 29K (I used my sis credit card though). Henry offers the D60 @ 29,500.
they were saying the D40 and D40X is going to be phased out. =(
Maybe they were just giving way to the D60.
Anyway, This is my first DSLR (and my first cam actually^_^ for a noobie like me), Im happy with the D60 and Im yet to explore the complex yet addictive world of photography!…

on a related note, any of you know of a good photography beginner class, other than the one offered in Intramuros by FPPF (Federation of Pilipino Photographers Foundation). Just want to have some choices. Please indicate links kung may website, and prices and schedules if possible. Haven’t touched my D60 much lately, preferring to work on it once I have some beginner theory. Para kasing sport ang tingin ko sa photography, mas maganda tama na agad sa una ang training, para mas less ang i-correct later at mas madali i-correct.

been to both stores dude… they both have 6% interest for the month… for the Nikon D60 – Henrys have it at 29,500 while 29,000 only for Mayers.
I go for Mayers and had the unit for 30,400 (25k credit – the rest for cash).

I’m thinking of getting a D60. I usually take shots of flowers for my work kaya Macro user ako. What is the best macro lens to use for this camera? Some flowers are about 1mm in size only. It’s hard to get a good shot when they’re this small. The shops in Quiapo all provide warranties? And re the classes, interested din ako. It’s true, better to start ng tama na. I don’t think I really maximize the capabilities of my cameras. It’s never too late to learn more.

Ive digged through the net and found that a Sigma Lens 24-70mm F2.8 EX DG MACRO would best fit a Macro User like you do.

- Nikon AF-S Micro 60 f/2.8 (macro, closeups, portraits, general photography)
- Nikon AF-S Micro 105 f/2.8 VR (macro, portraits, mild telephoto)
- Sigma APO Macro 150 f/2.8 EX DG HSM (macro, telephoto, portraits?)
I cannot give my personnal preference on these stuffs as I am yet a noobie.
haven’t checked out stores other than Henrys and Mayers – But both offers warranty (may be store, local, or international)…

The Quiapo Area, especially hidalgo, is a photographer’s haven. So far, This is the place where you can buy quality camera at lower price compared to those that were in the mall.
(a difference of 10k is really something… ^_^)
This is a grey market – I believe stores may not actually be authorized dealers of the product (hence store warranty only) but the good thing is the products they sell is of quality assurance (AFAIK) – no need to worry.

Yep, for anybody interested in photography ok talaga yung mga quiapo shops mentioned. Hindi lang camera ang mura, pati mga accessories. D40 still sells for 39k sa isang shop sa SM City last time I saw it about two weeks ago. And even professional photographers flock to those Quiapo shops for their supplies. Sila nga nag-refer sa amin eh hehehe
Lastly, just wanna bump a previous post I made: Anybody knows of some good beginner photography class, usually weekend sessions? Or is there a thread for this already?

just my two cents…
pag newbie ka talaga, kahit gaano karami pang explanation sabihin sa yo hindi mo rin ma-appreciate masyado yung mga sinasabing differences. that was the case kasi sa akin. so, what happened sa case ko, may mga ibang factors na outside na sa camera itself ang naging guide ko in choosing which one. for one, price. afaik, mas mura ang nikon sa comparable canon model (correct me if i am wrong). second and more important, the people around me. may in-laws ako na medyo knowledgeable na sa camera, naka-nikon sila, so nag-nikon din ako kasi dahil may similarities sa controls and terms, mas madali nila ako matuturuan. isa pa, mas madaling magcompare ng accessories (or even get yung pinaglumaan na nila hehehe i got my lens protector for free lang). third, yung aesthetics nung camera: size, weight, controls. based sa pagcheck ko, mas ergo ang nikon d60 (i could be wrong, again). other than that, just get either one and enjoy it hehehe pag andyan na tsaka mo na makikita ano ba ang mga kelangan mo. problem nga lang, if you buy a brand, you buy into the system. so better check na rin prices ng upgrades nila like lenses and other accessories. based sa research ko, wala naman talaga itulak kabigin sa dalawa. you can even argue na 3rd or even 4th choice camera brands can do the trick for newbies.

i think yung 6-day unit warranty yata, if defective talaga yung unit, yung mismong unit ang papalitan. yung 6-mos store warranty, parts and service warranty yata (?), but no change in unit na.
if we add 3k yata, may additional warranty. the one who answered the phone preferred na pumunta na lang ako sa store nila for details.
but since it seems na ok naman nabili nyo dun, i might as well buy from them. a friend of mine also recommended their store.
i’m a newbie as well. :) is the lens that goes with the package pretty good for close-up shots?

yep, ayos naman ung nabili kong unit! the lens that goes with the package has a range of 18-55mm, and dude its a VR =)
for close up shots – I tried doing one and so far I think im getting great shots (yabang eh…) for a kit lens that is…. off course if you really want crisp and sharp close up shots you’ll have to buy a separate lens dedicated for that but the kit lens dude gives you just as fine shots.

if you are a previous owner of a D40 or D40X, then upgrading to a D60 doesn’t make that much of a difference- and I suppose that will be crap. But if you’ll be getting your first DSLR, D60 would be a nice option.

hey dude… that’s cool…
before I actually decided on buying my first cam, which is roughly 3.5 months old now, It literally took me a month.
Im stock in a dilemma between Canon EOS series cam and that of Nikon. In fact I was only planning on buying a point and shoot camera, never thought it would lead me to a DSLR. :)
and so my first cam is a DSLR and is a NIKON, and is a D60.
I actually like the toy. No regrets, and it pays to do your research work.
just do your research on unbiased reviews of cams your planning to buy. lols.
and speaking of research – flash sync is the fastest shutter speed our camera goes with flash.
one good point with this is that there are no disadvantages to the availability of faster sync speeds- it only gives us more options.
For me, this advantage of the D40 lacks a bit of encouragement from having me choose it over my TOY. :)

so you got a difference of 3k (substituting the Nikon D60 body to that of D40)
but you have an advantage of flash sync speed anyway.. yay…
against what?
a 6mp vs. 10.2 mp (doesn’t really matter unless your dying to print on large canvases)
but what about the other features?
(some feature of a NikonD60 body)
- Integrated dust reduction system
- Eye Sensor (information display turns off when you look through the viewfinder)
- Auto rotating LCD display
- Stop-Motion movie mode (likely an animated GIF)
- and others (memory gap)
*if you think that these features are not worth the 3k difference, then shoot. :)
*go for the D40 else we’ll be playing the same toy.. :D
*lenses are way important than the body in my opinion.. anyway…

I need help to decide…ano bang ok na bilhin nikon d60 or nikon d80?i’m just a beginner, yung pangmatagalan na kasi hindi biro ang maglabas ng pera.
I asked some stores at Hidalgo they recommend to me to buy nikon d80 body then buy 18-55mm lense. Is it a good deal? hoping for any response.

This week pupunta na ako sa Hidalgo, sure na ako sa d40 yung huling nag inquire ako nasa P21.500 , noobie ren ako sa you tube lang ako tumitingin mga stly and technique.. :) tanong kulang … NAMIMILI BA NG LENCE AND D40? balak ko kasi gawan ng scandal yung mga Girl sa mga gimikan pansin ko kasi pag gumigimiks sila either labas yung bra or sobrang short ng damet nila hehehe pwede na ba D40 for scandal ?:)

need help pls. i wanted to buy an SLR and i have no idea kung anu ok, i have a friend na may d40, kaso parang konti lang difference with d60, i was worried kasi na baka nga maphase out na yung d40 and in such case na masira sia, mas expensive yung repair (pag over na sa warranty). Thanks!

d40 or d60 it doesn’t matter, instead invest on a good lens, an external flash, cpl polarizer, extra batt, camera bags and other accesories…

wow interesting ang thread na to, I’ve used a canon 450d and I’ve also seen a Nikon d40 from both my friends, is it true mas maganda yung Nikon? I’m planning to buy one pero ayoko naman basta bibili lang kaya naghahanap pako ibang resources ng info. mas mura nga ang Nikon and at my opinion mas gwapo sya tignan.hehe. syempre yung reliability at quality hinahanap ko. Sa mga province, you can buy by calling or even emailing the store. Make sure that its a major store para hindi ka takbohan.
The normal practive would be through bank deposit then fax/email the deposit slip to the store. And they will sent the item to the province. Additional fees would normally be shouldered by the buyer. So far thats around 500 lang ata for Cagayan de Oro.

Next saturday would be my big day, I will be buying my first dslr. I’m on a budget and since my choices would only be the d60 and 1000d, I’m leaning towards canon. Hehe. But, the dillemma strikes again, should I get the 1000d or use some of my creditcard and opted for the 450d? Is there more the 450d could offer aside from spot metering, 3 inch lcd and additional 2.5 megapixels? Heck I even don’t know yet what does spot metering is for… Btw, how much does 450d sells now? I know 1000d is about 28,000 and the last time I checked, 450d costs 35,000, both from meyers. Did it become cheaper? I’m just new at this and help would be much appreciated… =)

Please confirm, yung price ba na 26k-27k ng d60 sa hidalgo it comes with 18-55 non VR lense? VR lense is much much better than non VR lense. Magkano po sa hidalgo pag 18-55mm VR lense ang kasama.

the camera produces a clicking sound then followed by

i own a nikon d60 with the 18-55 lens kit. dito ako sa san diego, ca and kung iccompare ang price it looks like mas mura dyan. but between d40 d40 x and d60 for a beginner, i say just get d40. the megapixels of the camera wouldn’t matter unless you’re gonna print those pics in really big dimensions. other than that d40 has the faster shutter speed at 1/500 max kapag naka manual or shutter priority. ang d60 hangggang 1/200 lang. you’ll know the difference kung ittry niyo pareho. but then for a starter you can achieve great pictures with d40. coz we tend to believe na more pixels eh mas malinaw lalabas sa computer maybe you’ll be more confident to buy d40x with 10.2 mp. which is not necessary kung pang friendster lng naman at myspace na postings ang gagawin. hehe. just like i do. :). there’s so many technicalities that i can only explain so much. check out kenrockwell.com it’s a good resource for nikon cameras. so yun. d40 over d60. had i read enough before i bought the d60, d40 na lang sana binili ko or d40x.

for clarity, i think with flash on (flash sync), the maximum shutter speed for d60 is 1/200
and for d40 1/500… (i think semi pro and pro nikon dslr’s are at 1/250 only)
and yes… compared to d60, d40 is an award winner d-slr
if your into fast action photography, get the d40…
on our d60 at 1/200 flash on, the rotating blades of the elec fan, it already stopped!
and that enough for me…(for now, hehehe)

… favor please, while you are there in hidalgo buying your nikon d60, can you ask for the price of Nikon D60 with CDSC warranty, and what freebies comes with it?
I’m still here in saudi (3mnths to go till my vac.. ang tagal pa!!!). I plan to buy in the philippines (CDSC unit) to avail of the local warranty. Ive been reading other forums and i read about this after sales service of columbia digital charging 100% surcharge on grey units. but of course i need to check the price difference between units with cdsc warranty against store warranty. Hopefully the difference will not be so big.

Ive done a lot of surfing to help me decide on which model to buy. I recommend you visit dpp.com and cameralabs.com cause they have great reviews. Also you may want to visit digitalphotographer.com.ph forums, you will understand the difference of grey units and cdsc units which maybe a factor on your decision, and so much more.
You should not choose D60 because of the pixel. 6MP is enough for viewing the pics on computer and for small prints. You wont need the 10MP unless you do cropping and if you want large prints (they say its even good at A3 size prints, thats already very big!).

what is included in the package is the camera itself (d40) with 18-55 mm lens, 4gb memmory, bag and other necessary accesories.. what is originally included is only a 2gb memory card, but i was able to convince them to give me a 4gb memory card..
henry’s & mayer were closed last sunday so i strolled over to almost all the stalls in hidalgo and eventually got a better deal for P19,500..i really have to buy that day coz im from gensan & my flight home is monday..
hope you can also get in hand your new dslr soon.. mwah!

share ko lang how bad my experience was with henry’s. last feb 20th, i called henrys around 2pm and asked for nikkor 55-200 vr lense price. the lady answered told me “11k, last price na”. hoping na mas mura sa mayers, so i didnt confirm na bibili ako. around 5pm, i called again and aked for the lense’s price and time na magclose ang store nila. i was at henry’s around 6:15pm, only to find out na 12500 na yung price.. i said i have just called and was given 11k price, but the owner insisted na 12500 for some reasons which i didnt mind. Bottom line, hindi ko binili, i got my lense at the avenue at 11500.

Hi guys,
I am here in south africa and I went through your forum and its nice reading all the comments and interaction between the nikon D40 & D60, and to admit it I am also one of the thousand people whos going crazy of having the unit, and I been comparing the prices here and there in manila and it 100 percent cheaper there and I could’nt wait to go home and get one for me as well, now the thing is other were saying that considering myself as a starter I really dont know where to choose between D40 & D60? well as what MELAI frm C.A. explaining that D40 or D40x is just ok,..but my plans is in a longer term say”I dont want to buy D40 and left behind by the trend?” I want something that 5 year from now on my kit is still update! you know what I mean?
So please help me decide on my camera on which is which? and please can you give me the address of HIDALGO in quiapo coz I think they have the lowest price or you can recommend other stores as long the quality doesnt sacrifice with the cost.

yehey, just got my D60, hehehe sa D’24k na ako bumuli ehh CDSC warranty kasi. and extra battery sa watson 1,900 lang yung en-el9, kaya lang hindi kasama yung bag sa D’24k ehhh binili ko pa ng 800 yung nikon nila na pang D3, tas yung memory hindi din kasama binili ku pa ng 450, hehehehe. lolz.

I just arrived from Singapore and I bought my Nikon D60 there for 800 SG$ including a 4GB memory, a nice Nikon bag and a lens filter. That price is after the tax refund of 46$. It’s pretty good, though after checking the comments here I don’t think there was much difference in the prices. :)

last time na tumawag ako dun is nung monday (3.16.09) yung price “naman” ng 55-200mm sa avenue is 12k (CDSC) then sa henry is 11.5k then sa watson 11.2k, mas maganda kung itatawag mu na lang din yung price ng lens na gustu mu para sigurado ka diba.

hello to all! just want to know if everyone here are pros already when it comes to photography.Ü i’ve been wanting kasi to own my very 1st dslr for so long already but i haven’t even taken any basic photography lessons. i just think i need to own one since i am so fond of taking photos during important events, especially of my family. i’ve had my sony digicam (dsc-p72) since 2003, one of the very 1st in Sony’s digicam line. but of course, i’m always pissed off by the blurred photos i get. though my family and friends say that i am pretty good at taking shots.
that is why i want to do a little of some advancement on my photo activities. =) and for the past weeks, i just fell in love with the D60, since most of my friends say that this is what i should get if i really plan to buy one. is the D60 too sophisticated for a newbie like me? is it a good, worthy-of-its-price entry level? thanks in advance to whoever could give me some advice. :)

im not a pro but i have a d90, thinking of enrolling into a class soon. getting a dslr if ur into photography is like having won a championship or something.. panalo talaga bro haha
d60 is good for its price and features being balanced pero if u have extra cash go for something you think would fit ur needs. because they say if you are really into it, mabilis ka maghahanap ng ibang features other than the d60 has. but to answer ur question, d60 is “worthy-of-its-price entry level” :) hope this helps. more power!

to dinerdash: D60 is a worthy-of-it’s-price entry level, na try mu na ba yung mga entry level ng canon? like 1000D, 400D and 450D, for other’s mas comfortable sila sa nikon and some sa canon, so depende pa rin yun sa gustu mu, hindi naman dahil sa sinabi ng mga friends mu na maganda yung d60 ehh bibili kana, at least pag isipan mung mabuti yung first dslr mo. i also have canon 10D matagal na sakin yun until now buhay parin, hindi ko sinasabing wag kang bumili ng d60 it’s just that try some dslr, remember first time mung bibili ng “first dslr mo” my tropa ako contented na sya sa d40 nya, and yung nephew ko ayaw na ayaw nya ng nikon, kun sabagay naka d40 sya, like lui said getting a dslr if ur into photography is like having won a championship or something.. panalo talaga. sensya na panget ako mag explain ehhh.

to lui and luisa, salamat po talaga sa mga advices ninyo! i appreciate them very much. btw, girl po ako… :) ewan ko nga din po, mas biased ako sa nikon, parang dati po nung ginusto ko magkaron ng first digicam ko…..sony lang talaga ang in-ambition ko mabili! siguro dahil may mga friends ako na canon ang unang binili na dslr, tapos nakita ko how fast they’ve changed, upgraded from the very first dslr that they have…..parang di sila contented sa canon. and also, my cousins and also my other friends who’ve had their nikon for sooooo long already. at madami na din nagsabi na mas user-friendly daw talaga ang nikon! pero totoo nga yon, it’all up to the user kung saan sya komportable.
now i know i have to start saving for my very first nikon dslr!!! wish me luck! =) thanks sa inyong lahat ulit.

nagtanong na din ako dito sa may eastwood, order basis daw ang d60 at 37,300 ung buong kit. sabi nung nagbebenta, mas maganda daw ang 1000d pero i prefer d60 sana. he’s offering 1000d at 34k. sabi din nya may tie-up daw ang canon ngaun with malayan insurance (ata)..so kung mawala ung cam mo, sagot ng insurance not sure lang magkano.

hmmmm, try mu parin tawaran, kasi 25.5k na lang yung D60 ngayun brand new pa hindi nga lang cdsc warranty or maybe yung iba is cdsc warranty hindi ko sure basta 25.5k na lang yung d60, so ikaw kung kaya mu pa dagdagan ng konti yung budget mo para sa brand new, kasi kahit naman last december lang nya binili is hindi mu parin naman alam yung history ng camera for last 3 months. so it;s up to you pero para sakin bigay nya kahit 21 to 22k, pero kung 23k dagdag ka na lang bili kana lang ng brand new. so nasa sayu yun, like ako kasi hanggat kaya ko bumili ng brand new ehh brand new talaga. so think about it dear. blessed be.

based on my opinion, lens filter adding color effect or effect on the image (many to mention) and UV filter is to protect your lens from any damage it can get, may iba na ayaw gumamit ng filter, based on their experience the quality of the picture gets worse.

actuation of a camera, you need to download the software called KUSO EXIF viewer.
from there open the last image that you’ve taken (make sure you click the view full information before you open the last image that you taken) and then look for the shutter counts (second to the last before the gps information tab)

yes importante actuations ng camera, dun mu malalaman kung naka ilang close open ng ang shutter nito, just like in a car, mile age nga lang, kung ganu na kalayo ang tinakbo ng kotse, okei balik tayu sa actuations ng camera, this is the survey from camera shutter life expectansy database. there is this 1 record na 22, 361 – 29, 479 clicks of shutter is sira na yung d60 nya, well i guess event photographer sya, so far below 22, 361 is wala pang nag record na nasira yung d60 nila. but it’s just a record, depnds pa rin naman yun sa user, i have a canon 10D since 2005, still working just fine, i make a 1,500 shots in just a week, because of wedding’s and debut. kaya WAG MABAHALA.
CAUTION: shut it wisely.

guyz , try to haggle sa quiapo kung mukhang canvasser ka lang they will tell u different stories pero kung ang looks mo biling bili ka na bibigay sa yo yung hangganan sa gusto mo. well hindi naman siguro ako ang magaling sa mga ganyan bagay nuh, nung time na nag babalak akong bumili ng 2nd dslr ko eh talagang i have lots of contact numbers at first mga mall and private stores pa, kaya lang sobrang mahal ng d60 nila. then sinubukan ko sa mga shops sa hidalgo, tawag ako ng tawag everyday for straight 1 week bago ako bumili, kung magtatanung ka lang, hindi nila ibibigay yung real price, pero kung makikipag negotiate kana, pwede nila ibigay yung price na gustu mu, sa d24K nga lang ako bumili, mas mahal ng konte kesa sa ibang stores, sinigawan pa nga ako ng una akong tumawag eh, sabi pumunta kana lang dito, at wag ka ng tatawag, price ng d60 nun is 29k walang sdmmc, then nung pumunta ako 28.5 na lang, wala naman bag, hehehe. and most of the shops in hidalgo, habol talaga nila is makarami ng benta sa isang araw. and magtanung kayo sa talagang owner. syempre mas mataas megapixel mas maganda, parang kotse mas maraming sticker and mas maingay eh mas maganda, hehehe, remember: higher pixels doesn’t improve you’re photography skills it only improve the details of the image, kahit meron pang video or so what ever (no offense just a comment), kahit my mp3 player pa yang dslr na yan. mukha kasing nag babago na ang mga dslr ngayun ehh, mukhang mainstream na ehh nagmumukha ng sell outs ehh.

450D: 12MP, 9 AF points, bigger VF, battery grip (optional), 3.5fps, mirror lock-up, 3″ LCD, Live View, DOF preview, bracketing, etc.
D60: 10MP, 3 AF points, no battery grip, 3fps, no mirror lock-up, 2.5″ LCD, no Live View, no DOF preview, no bracketing, etc

Kagagaling ko lang sa hidalgo kanina.
ang D60 ngayon ay 26.5 k, kit na yun plus bag and 4 gig na memory. Store warranty sya, kung columbia warranty hanap niyo nasa 32k.
ang d40 naman ay nasa 26k. pwede din credit card dun. cheapest and most reliable sa henry’s.
safe naman ang lugar kaya don’t worry. :)

hmmmm, i understand mahirap talagang mamili ng dslr lalo pat yung iba sa inyo is first time na bibili ng dslr and first time sa world of photography, pero if i were you guys do some reviews on your own, PLEASE POR PABOR, do some research, read some informations. wag nyo ibase sa opinion ng ibang tao yung pagbili ninyo ng dslr, dahil hindi naman kami or ako ang bibili nyan, KAYO.
well for me, D60 parin ako, although mas magagnda features ng D80 and it’s a semi pro camera, different ang body magnesium alloy ata. ang ayoko lang sa D80 is in body motor, para sa iba it;s good kasi makakamura sa lens, hindi muna kailangan bumili ng AF lens, mas mura yung manual lens, and kahit manual lens ang ikabit mo sa d80 it’s still gonna auto focus because of it’s in body motor.
kung ako lang, kung mura lang yung Nikon D3, wala ng pero pero or tanong tanong, yun n agad bibilhin ko.

and about the price, D60 is still the cheapest compare to D80. (i guess nagtataas ng mga prices sa hidalgo, tagal na kong hindi tumatawag dun, next time na lang pag bibili na ko mga studio equipments)

hi maam luisa, what is your opinion regarding 6k (32k vs 26k) difference between cdsc and grey unit? is it worth the extra money?
I agree with you, we guys need to do our own research to help us decide which camera to buy. Im going to buy D60 in the next few months, but im caught between cdsc and grey unit. Hope you can share some points on this.

hmmm, CDSC vx Grey unit, before nung time na bumili ako ng 2nd DSLR ko is nung march 10, 2009, and yung price of Grey unit is 25.5k-26K vs CDSC 28k-28.5k, well, before worth yung extra money talaga para sa mga gustu ng CDSC, kahit san basta authorized nikon dealer mapapa check up, clean, lens clean, mo yung nikon gear mo, kahit even the warranty expires. sa grey unit mostly store warranty, hindi tatanggapin sa mga columbia.
hindi ko na kasi talaga alam ang price ngayun ehhh. pero sabi mo 32k vs 26k (talagang nagtaas na pala sila)
i guess go for the grey unit, basta check mu na lang mabuti, kay henry’s and meyer meron sila.
and alam ko marami dito sa forum na to and bumili ng grey unit na D60, (kung nabasa mo sa taas) ask them something about Grey unit. binili ko kasi dati is cdsc.

kung my pera ka naman bakit hindi CDSC diba, my isa ka pang option, kung my 32k ka for CDSC, bili ka na lang nng Grey, then bili ka ng nikkor 50mm lens, mura lng yun lam ko wala pang 7k yun, or pwede din SB-400 speedlight, or vertical battery grip, pwede kapa bumili ng extra battery, or kung ayaw mu naman my ma mon luk dun masarap kumain dun. hehehehe.

Guyz, look at the other side kung talagang may budget ka na go for it, NIKON yan …alam ko mahirap magbitiw ng pera ngayon pero pag nabili mo na yan mag kakaroon ka na ng outdoor studio mo..try to test the d60 sa tabi ng beach around 5pm onwards on manual focusing…makikita mo ang slr mo worth na WORTH dun sa pinakawalan mo na pera..then masasabi mo maganda ang manyut with your d60…cheers…luisa treat mo naman kami sa ma mon luk…isang special siopao with sabaw

hello beng… sorry biased ako eh… D60 ang cam ko kasi. Both are great cams pero it’s up to you talaga kung ano type mo. Ako sa Henry’s bumili ng D60 just this April 6. I got it for 26K, store warranty lang. Here are some of the things you might wanna consider:
d40 – older model, cheaper d60- newer model, a bit more pricey
– 6 mp – 10 mp (pixels don’t really matter ^_^)
– better ISO default (200) – ISO default is 100
– dust reduction feature
– eye sensitive area

beng, beng, beng, hehehe joke. if i were you, dahil sa new dslr user ka, D40 is so much for you na. ok na ok na sya, actually, kung talagang first time mo sa photography, D40 is good, okei din naman ang D60 eh, kaya medyo nagtaas na sila ngayun., pero kung makakapaghintay kapa ok naman ang D60, CDSC or store warranty, okei naman both, pero CDSC kasi ako eh. and dahil sa galing ka pa ng pampanga, daan ka ng MA MON LUK masasarap pa mga siopao, siomai and pansit nila dun, hehehe.

hehe, sir matutulungan kita about dyan, kaya lang wala akong alam na school or workshop na malapit sa taytay rizal, and halos kada 2 weeks is my mga bagong schedule para sa mga workshops, and besides hindi ba dapat D60 muna yung pino problema mo, buy you’re gear muna sir then learn it, bago ko i post yung mga workshops, and kung hobby lang naman kahit hindi na kayo mag-enroll and kung basic operations and camera handling lang naman madaming pwedeng magturo sa inyo nun. if you wanna read na lang, all you need is a pc and a net connection, i can give you some site where you can get free ebooks. jus buy you’re gear first sir, then if you still need or want that workshops, I’ll post right away.

ganito gawin mo pag dating mo dun, try mu hawakan pareho, kung san ka msaya dun ka, (impulsive choice na lang or toss a coin hehehe joke) don’t worry pag nabili mu na yan, no regret and no doubts na pag nabili muna, yup, hindi lahat ng lens is compatible sa mga DX format DSLR, like D40, D40X and D60, etc. actually pareho lang sila, kung anu pwede sa isa pwede dun sa dalawa, gets? basta af-s lens pwede dun sa tatlo, mostly narin naman na ng mga nilalabas na lens ngayun is af-s, konti na lang ang pino produce nila na mga manaul lens para sa mga slr na my in body motor like D80. yuo’ll find cheap lens there in hidalgo, 50mm 6.5K, 55-200mm vr 12K, 18-135mm 12.5K. sigma 70-300mm macro 11.5K. ok lang mga ganyan tanung basta wag lang yun mga tanung na anu mas maganda.
and don’t forget the ma mon luk. malapit lang sa simbahan yun along the highway.

Beng: Ang D60 kasi eh AF-S siya, so ibig sabihin nago-autofocus ang lens. Kapag hindi AF-S ang binili mong lens, manual ang pag-ayos. Mejo pricey ang AF-S. nagtanong ako last night sa JT Photo (Fotohub) sa Il Terrazo. If you want lens for portrait, I suggest 50mm f/1.4. Mga naa 34K yun sa JT Photo. Baka may mas mura sa Hidalgo… ^_^

basta AF-S or AF-I lens, pwedeng pwede dun sa tatlong entry-level na DSLR (D40,D40X,D60)
para sakin mas maganda na yung nasa lens ang focus-motor kesa nasa in-body-motor, pag hindi AF-S or AF-I lens ang binili mu gagana parin naman sya yun nga lang manual focus ka. mas ok yun kung more on macro photography ang type mo. mas cheap ang mga hindi af-s or af-s lens.

I have a Nikon D60 kit. I’m planning to purchase a lens that is capable of shooting pictures at long distance. For example taking pictures of my kids on their graduation on stage while i am with the audience at around 20 meters away from the stage.
What is the lens suited for that purpose? Yung di po masyadong expensive ha?

ahmm no. kahit anung lens basta AF-S or AF-I is mag o auto-focus sa D40, any lens that is not AF-S or AF-I is hindi mag o auto-focus sa D40, manual lang. yung 50mm lens is good for portrait, and yung mga binanggit ko before is mga AF-S yung mga yun. gets? and im sure kit ang kukunin mu don’t worry darling AF-S na sya. just keep asking if you still don’t understand. maybe i’ll post my yahoo messenger. so we can chat better.

cheapest of now, 55-200mm afs vr telephoto zoom lens, around 11K-12K (dpends on the store)
kung sigma 70-300mm apo dg macro naman, mas maganda lang kasi ito pag macro photography eh. pagkakaalam ko medyo mabagal yung auto-focus nya, eh graduation pa naman yung pupuntahan mu so maraming decisive moments, well tanung mu si kryptn3 meron syang sigma 70-300mm macro, around 11.5K, ask mo kung maganda and mabilis yung auto-focu nya.

I agree with Luisa. Telephoto lens ang dapat kung malayuan ang shot. The best would be 300mm sigma lens kaya lang syempre pricey rin. It’s the ideal lens for portraits, sports photography, nature photography, and other types of na gumagamit ng telephoto range. ^_^

Macro photography is close-up photography. (close to the same size as the subject) like for example subject mo is ant or mosquito or any bugs you like hehe basta maliit pwedeng pwede lumaki sa macro photography. and para sakin pag macro photography mas maganda kapag manual focusing.
(ask mo kung mabilis yung focusing ng sigma 70-300mm apo dg macro, if ever mabilis di yun na lang bilihin para wala kang ma miss na moment sa graduation na pupuntahan mo). so yun lang.

hey guys, sigma 70-300 apo macro,, if you have this one on graduation okay na rin the thing is medyo maingay ng konti when you use the af ‘pero advice lang mas maganda kung i manual mo…. sanayan lang yan.. yung speed ..i cant compare to other lenses kasi yan lang ang ginagamit ko na 70-300 …ginamit ko yan sa graduation din ng anak ko….remember when you use the af of course babagal yan …practice na lang .. punta ako today sa hidalgo …tanong ko rin ang availabilities ng d40 at d60 bili kasi ako ng nissin…ramen

I called henry’s and mayer 27K ang D60 nila.
Bibili na kasi ako sa Saturday, and hanggang 26K nalang talaga ang budget ko, kaya pa kayang tawaran?
kahit sana i-downgrade nila like ung memory card from 4gb to 2gb? or kahit walang bag? pwede kaya yon?
and sana good mood si mang ramon pag bumili ako. hehe:)

Hi vmm ^_^ dont worry kasi nagbabago everyday ang presyo ng mga dslr. Kami nga ng ate ko bumili… 1 day apart lang pero bumaba na agad ng 500 yung D60…so keri na yun! ^_^ ok lang yan! Update ka na lang kung magkano mo nabili ha? Paki-ask naman how much yung af-s na 50mm f/1.8 ha… hehehe ^_^ salamat!

Guys, stillhenrys and mayer pa rin …as what i have told earlier ..if you have your money with you kaya mo pababain ang price but if you are comparing each other store price …mababaliw ka….D60 is 26-27k today depende sa mood ni mang ramon D40 21-23 depende sa stocks mukhang oos , medyo mataas today try nyo next week kc parang may pattern kapag suweldo time medyo mataas- parang trend..anyways kumain ako ma mon luk ….pagbalik ko a guy told me that he bought his d60 to 26.5k nun tinawqagan nya 27k nun pinuntahan nya 26.5k ..ang gulo nila para silang…..oops…ooopssss…may bata…cheers

hi ric,
i bought nikkor lens 55-200mm last march and i used it sa graduation ng nephew ko. this is a medium telelens and believe me kung 9 meters lang ang layo ng subject mo walan kang problema dito. this is the perfect lens for such kind of situation.
now i want to experiment on macro photography so i’m selling it now at a negotiable price. andito lang ako sa estrella, makati.

Ask ko lang yung capacity ng 55-200 vr lens mo? Kc yung example is just 9m, what if mga 20 meters na ang layo dina ba nya kaya? Hilig ko kc mag shoot from afar that is why im looking for a fitted lens for me. Kasi tulad mo baka mag-upgrade din ako kaagad.

dali lang yan, kung portrait and gustu mu din ng malayuan or yung tinatawag kong sniping, perfect is nikkor 18-200mm, ngayun kung sniping lang sigma 70-300 mm lens, pwede na rin siguro for portrait, lalayo na nga lang ng konte,taas kasi ng wide angle kung 70-300mm, so depen de kung anung shooting style mo. kung lagi kang portrait ok na yung 18-55, 18-105, pero kung sniping ehhh 70-300 na.

Guyz, ihad this experience in my kit lens when vr is on it has this slight annoying clicking sound ,fraction of a secnd thats why i always turn the vr off parang awkward eh, na experience nyo rin ba? @askmae-try mo muna siguro yung 2 lens i’m sure matutuwa ka sa outcome at quality ng sigma..cheers…

love my sigma 70-300mm APO DG MACRO telephoto zoom lens, kahit walang VR i can get sharp photos kahit wala pang tripod. and really good for sniping bugs. hehehe. laki pa ng tawad ko kay mang ramon, nung bumili ako naka pink na t-shirt pa sya nun, 10.5K bigay nya tawad ko 10 na lang binigay ni kumag, hehehehe.

Hi everyone! gusto ko sanang bumili ng Nikon D60 pero sabi mas maganda raw ang D90 na, ang concern ko is baguhan pa ako sa mga ganitong klase ng cam.. ano po mga mga ma recommend nyo sa kain.. stay with D60 or go for D90 na.

both cameras are good, kung my pera ka go for the D90. make it sure you can handle and maximize the power of it, beginner is not an issue, even pro’s buy a D60. pero kung sa price lang D60 na ko, wala naman ako paki sa HD video ng D90. sinu man nagsabi sayu, walang alam sa photography yun pero m alam sa camera yun.

hehehe laking jackpot talaga, laki na rin yung 500 na tawad nuh, anyway by the way, some review about sigma 70-300 mm APO DG MACRO telephoto zoom lens, kahit wala syang IM (image stabilization) or VR (vibration reduction) or kahit walang tripod ehhh you can still get sharp photos, marami kasi nag sasabi na mahirap na kumuha ng sharp photos pag 200-300 focal length na, well not by me, basta iwasan nyo lang yung camera shake, and hold still. yun nga lang talonng talo kapag sa malapitan kailangan ko pang lumayo ng 20-25 feet para lang makakuha ng whole body, pero pag sa malayuan or sniping, eh panalo talaga.

hmmm ako din nung una gustu ko ng nikkor 55-200mm AFS-VR ehh, dahil sa VR sya, and madami reviews na lumabas about sigma 70-300mm apo dg macro na mahirap kontrolin kapag 200-300mm focal length, pero sigma parin binili ko, satisfy naman ako sa mga macro shots ko. medyo talo lang sa lowlight ang sigma, kaya good talaga sya pang outdoor and sniping bugs, kung portrait naman at 70mm focal length sa sigma ehh need to distance of let say 15-20 feet away from the subject. mas maganda try mu pareho, nung bumili kasi ako lahat ng tindahan sa hidalgo out of stock yung nikkor 55-200mm AFS-VR ehh, so parang destiny talaga kami ng sigma 70-300mm apo dg macro, (my ganun factor pa hehehe) at naka pink na t-shirt si mang ramon (intsek beho).
caution: iwasan ang sigma 70-300mm DG MACRO. (walang kwenta pag dating ng 200-300mm macro focal length) magsasayang lang kayo ng pera.

hehehe another comment, D60 vs D90? i’ll go for the D60, if you’re just gonna turn photography to one of your personal hobby, but if you’re gonna be taking photography in a small business and shoot a HD Movie go for the D90. one more D40 vs D60, well a bit hard, i’ll choose D40 if you’re just gonna print your photos to like 3R to 5R. but if you’re gonna print your photos to like let say 8×10 like me and put it in a frame or stick on the wall like i always do, go for the D60, but then if you wanna shoot HD Movie well i suggest buy a handycam. that’s just for me, i don’t care about my gear as long as it can satisfy my photography needs. I CARE AND PUT A HARD TIME SPENDING ON MY PHOTOS. that’s a bit harsh but it’s true, photography is not a about the gear or anything else.

guys, kapag may pera di malaman ang bibilhin d60 o d90 lahat ng top of the line kukunin and will found later d40 or d60 okay na…ako..matagal ko na pinag isipan and fall into d60-nissin di622-sigma 70-300 apo dg macro lahat mura pero QUALITY ang binibigay ng mga gamit ko… and again nasa kumukuha yan …cheers

Last May 11, sabi mo ok naman ang mga kuha mo sa sigma 70-300mm mo, pati yung mga kuha mo at 200-300 focal length. Bakit ngayon you are discouraging everybody to buy this type of lens. Parang may inconsistency sa mga statement mo sa forum na ito.
Sabi naman ni Krypton3, quality naman daw yung mga kuha niya sa sigma nya.

REVIEW:
sigma 70-300mm APO DG MACRO – really good for outdoor, not that bad in lowlight, mabilis ang autofocus, not so hard to control 200-300mm focal length even without IM or VR or a tripod, THE ONLY THING THAT I HATE IS MAINGAY MAG AUTO-FOCUS parang makina ng motorbike, yun lang, ito suggestion lang sa mga bibili, if you’re always gonna do outdoor photoshoot and always wanted to snipe everything, i suggest buy the sigma 70-300mm APO DG MACRO, magaganda rin naman yung shots kahit sa portrait basta wag lang malapitan. talo lang sa malapitan kaya nga telephoto zoom lens ehhh. (kasi trinay kong mag picture ng halfbody, eh malapit ako nun kaya kinailangan ko pang lumayo ng 20-25ft away from the subject of wideangle of 70mm focal length.)

ok talaga, sigma 70-300mm APO DG MACRO, and why would i discourage you guys to buy the lens? hey don’t know you’re talking about, there two types of Sigma 70-300mm, the APO DG MACRO, and the DG MACRO. and i’m not discouraging people to buy sigma 70-300mm APO DG MACRO, bakit dahil ba sa sinabi kong maingay mag auto-focus, it’s fine by me, don’t know bout you, I’m just posting my reviews. and if you’re gonna buy DG MACRO, well better buy the APO DG MACRO, dahil 3K na lang naman na ida-dagdag.

kahit bumili ka pa ng D90, i’m gonna bet hindi mu kayang talunin yung mga photographs ko sa canon 10D ko. kahit nga ata yung canon powershot A430 ko, hindi mu rin kayang talunin yung mga macro shots ko sa A430 ko.

magkano kaya ang D5000 sa hidalgo? at saka just asking lang ha kung magkano din yung canon 1000D at 450D sa hidalgo? hindi kasi katulad dito ang furom dun sa furom ng canon 1000d, mas marami kang matutunan at info. at ang mag tao dito matutulungin. dito kasi ako ngaun sa butuan city sa mindanao, wala namang malalaking mall dito, at saka mga dlsr camera bihira lang maliban lang kung mag order ka sa tindahan. mga march yata yun, ang price ng canon 1000D dito sa kodak center, 33K eh. i think mas mababa dyan sa hidalgo. kadalasan lang dito naka display mga compact camera lang.

ok talaga, sigma 70-300mm APO DG MACRO, and why would i discourage you guys to buy the lens? hey don’t know you’re talking about, there two types of Sigma 70-300mm, the APO DG MACRO, and the DG MACRO. and i’m not discouraging people to buy sigma 70-300mm APO DG MACRO, bakit dahil ba sa sinabi kong maingay mag auto-focus, it’s fine by me, don’t know bout you, I’m just posting my reviews. and if you’re gonna buy DG MACRO, well better buy the APO DG MACRO, dahil 3K na lang naman na ida-dagdag.

70-300 sigma is worse! the noise is louder using AF mode. It sounds like it is scratching metal with a high pitch noise on top of the noise your lens is making.

kung bibili kayo ng nikkor 55-200mm afs vr, mas maganda bumili na lang kayo ng nikkor 18-135mm, ganda pa ng wide angle,kahit papano malayo na rin yung telephoto, kung 55-200mm kasi taas na ng wide angle, bitin pa yung telephoto. halos same price lang din naman sila, mas mataas lang ng 2k yung 18-135mm, pero kung my pera talaga kayo, 18-200mm, yun talaga maganda para sa lahat. ngayun bakit sigma 70-300mm apo dg macro binili ko kahit lam kong mataas yung wide angle, malayo naman yung telephoto.

well i don’t know the problem to that, pero para sakin ok na yun, cool nga ehh maingay kada auto-focus, astig, my sound aura yung lens, tapos kada auto-focus yung sounds parang ferrari toy cars ng shell. sana nga nilakasan pa nila para mas nakakatakot, hehehe. buti nga apo lang nilagay nila sa sigma 70-300mm apo dg macro, panu na kung nilagyan nila ng VR or IM yan, di mas malupit pa, sana nga may nilagyan na din nila na sariling monopod yung lens ehh, para sobrang astig ehhh.

At ate, maganda po ba yung 50mm 1.8 na walang autofocus? kasi 6.5k lang, at clear raw talaga yung pics.
BTW, yung 70-300 mo po, magnda ba yun sa lowlight na longrange, tulad ng concerts? hirap rin ako, kasi wala ata VR yan, eh kahit d ako humihinga nanginiginig parin ako. hehe.

sabihin ko na ng maaga, hindi ka nila papansinin kung Grey unit yung papakita mo, sa mga authorized nikon dealer, kapag nagpunta ka, mauuna pang tignan nila yung CDSC warranty kesa sa gear, lalo na dyan sa megamall, kahit magtatanong ka lang, su-sunget ng mga saleslady dyan. mas maganda nyan patingin mu sya kay ramon (kung my warranty pa mas maganda para masulit mu yung warranty) pero kaw bahala try mu rin sa megamall baka sakaling matignan nila yan, about sa price wala pa ko lam ehh, (hindi pa naman ako nagpapalinis) (pero sabi ng tropa ko kung gear CDSC 500, lens 200-300 naman.)
pag concerts, as much as possible lumalapit talaga ako, and hindi naman yung shaking a problem yung subject kasi gumagalaw, iso ko aabot ng 800-1600 to much noise na yun magiging grainy yung image, ehh yung shutter speed mga 100 lang para, mas mataas na mas madilim na, and minsan kasi ako my patungan ehhh.

mas maganda yung nikon 50mm f/1.8 AF Nikkor lens, mas maganda yun kapag my AF, a lens that can zoom instead of you having to move forward and back to compose your image, sharp and over twice as sensitive to dim light, Nikon’s least expensive lens, also probably one of the best. pero mas maganda yung f/1.4 shoot in available light without flash.

Query about diopter adjustment. I normally wear eyeglass as i am farsighted. If i adjust the diopter according to my eye needs (without my glasses on), then i asked somebody who has a normal eyesight to take a picture, does he have to adjust the diopter before taking the picture? Suppose setting is auto focus, will the picture be as sharp? how about if manual focus is used?
Sorry cant test it myself, i am yet to buy d60.

well didn’t yet encounter that, but i think picture will be as sharp, diopter is just for some who has a eye sight problem (farsighted/nearsighted), and besides, for example if your gonna ask someone to take picture using your camera and the diopter is adjusted, he’ll/she’ll gonna ask you about the diopter or the viewfinder is blurred so you’ll adjust it eventually so that he/she can take better picture. sorry if i can’t explain it very well (not that good in INGLES)

How do you keep dust off the camera while changing lenses? Do you clean the sensor on your own? Im not comfortable changing lenses. My first slr was a canon 1000, bought in 1995, but i messed up the mirror within a month trying to clean it. I sold it and bought a manual x-700 minolta, 28-70 and 70-210 lens. And guess what, same thing happened, i wiped the mirror so hard it needed replacement. You see im just annoyed seeing dust in the viewfinder.
Now im going to buy my first dslr (my 3rd slr!!!) and want to know how to keep the inside clean. Maybe its just me. But you seem to handle dust problem very well, any tip?

i changed lens in a air tight room and dust cleaned, i cleaned my sensor on my own even D60 has a cleaning sensor, i also have a canon 10D it also have a sensor cleaning system, but i’m not wipping the mirror (i never touched inside the camera), i just blow up some air inside, my ginagamit akong pang buga ng hangin sa loob ginawa ko lang sya, pag pinisil my hangin na lalabas, then kabit agad ng lens. (just a tip wag mo lang hahawakan yung mirror or kahit yung loob ng camera basta bugahan mu lang ng hangin ok na yun kahit yung lens.)

OCD! Ngayon ko lng narinig yan a. Pero mukhang tama ka ha ha ha. Pati sa screen ng cellphone ayoko ng may gasgas. As far as i can remember, ganito na ako noon pa, ayoko ng makalat, everything should be in place.

So u dont normally change lenses outside your room? its like you plan your shots, if u like sniping, then youll be shooting with tele only, then next day youll be shooting with a short lens. Ganun ba yun?

Grey units and cdsc units are same as far as build, material and quality is concerned. They are both manufactured in a nikon plant, with the same quality control.
The difference is how they are imported. Cdsc units are imported by nikon authorized distributor (which is of course columbia digital, the one and only authorized nikon distributor in the phils.). Grey units are what they call parallel imports (probably thru hongkong) by stores not directly connected or authorized by nikon. However, cdsc authorized some stores to sell cdsc imports (local dealers). Marketing strategy, more stores means more potential buyers. Imagine the disadvantage to cdsc if they will only sell their imports in their main office.
There is a price difference, cdsc unit is more expensive, maybe 3-4k, not sure really. But some says it is worth it. Because the next concern is warranty and repair. Grey units warranty is handled by the stores. They can replace defective unit if returned within few days (again not sure how many days), repair the unit (but they have less repair equipment) and/or they will send the unit to hongkong to have it repaired. On the other hand, cdsc have more repair equipment and trained technician.
Grey unit can be repaired in cdsc repair shop (there is only one cdsc authorized repair shop) but repair and materials cost will be 200% as the price for a cdsc unit. Too much huh.
Thats it. Just remember, whichever youll choose, it is the same camera built by nikon. Check the unit before you handover your precious money. There are many grey units owner who are satisfied and did not experience any problem at all. One more thing, cameras bought from authorized distributors outside the phils are considered grey. Good luck. Sabay na lang kaya tayo bumili sa june.

guyz, still 27k ang bigayan ngayon , galing lang ako yesterday i bought my vanguard sling bag mura na siya and quality, bought also “snug it” yung rubber protector ng camera guys, maganda toits barako ang dating fit na fit sa d60 may kasama pang lcd protector …good buy ,try nyo …1250 ang price besides 24k store …and of course dumaan ako MAMONLUK…siopao plus siomai na may sabaw…cheers ..And sa lahat na gusto magdala ng car ..try nyo may parking beside sm palanca st…. 40 first 2 hrs magsama lang kayo ng driver kc if not you have to leave your key sa guard…pero mukhang safe naman …

names, signatures, or copyrights, we do it on photoshop cs3, before i do it on photoshop cs2 and 7.0, like i’ve comment here before, yung mga trabaho ko dati, ehh walang kahihiyan ginamit sa advertising, ayun na tanggal ako sa trabaho, kaya simula nun nag lalagay na ko ng mga copyrights kaya lang sa mga gilid lang and ang mga tao ngayun masyadong mautak kina cut na lang nila, kaya ngayun naman, sa gitna ko na nilalagay. nilalabuan ko na lang (less opacity of the copyright with my name on it.) i aslo edit my photographs to PS CS3, exposure,shadows/highlights,brightness/contrast,sharpness, color. and simple re-touch of the face kung portrait.

CDSC, hmmm panu ko ba e explain, may nag explain nasa taas previous cooment, hanapin mu na lang, basta mas maganda yung CDSC kesa Grey. pero mas mura yung mga grey kesa sa CDSC, and yung grey kasi is mostly store warranty sya, and yung cdsc eh mga authorized nikon dealer. basta my review sa taas, hanapin mu.

At last, the long wait is over! I bought my new D60 last thursday. quite happy with it. 27.5k, hidalgo, 4gb, nikon bag, screen protector. 500 shots in 5days, trigger happy ehh. Did not have the chance to eat at ma mon luk though.

@Robert21, you’re probably referring to Shutter Actuations. It’s just how much shots a camera has taken. Sometimes you would go for an old camera who only have a few actuations than a new one who has got a lot.
“It’s like a used car. If the car is a year old, and has 100,000 miles on it, then I would move on to the next car. If it’s 6 years old and has 50,000 miles on it, then that’s a different story.”

Mga sir nakabili ko noong isa araw ng nikon D60 kay jerry tieng it cost the unit 28,998 plus yung additional kit cost 1288 at delivery ng 400. kasama na yung ML-3 remote, op/tech pro strap, lense pen at filter and 4 gb SD, with tamrac velocity 6x bag.
tapos kanina nakabili ako ng zoom lense 55-200mm vr nikon for 7k.

mas maganda sa december, maraming freebies, pero mas maganda nung bumili ako nung march, 29k lang yung cdsc warranty ngayun mahal na, sa d24′K yun ang pinaka murang shop sa hidalgo. I bought it from mayers, grey unit. I settled for grey unit kasi 35k yung cdsc, available lng sa columbia hidalgo. Malaking difference din di ba. So far ok naman yung unit ko. Dami nila stock ng d40 at d60. Nung time na bumili ako, 4 kami buying at the same time, 2 d60 at 2 d40, parang mani na lng ang benta ng dslr ngayon. Yung screen protector napilit ko lang si mang ramon kasi ayaw talaga ibaba ang presyo. Important thing is to check the unit. Take sample shots. Pag hindi kayo at ease or something is bothering you, palitan nyo yun unit. Like what happened to me, after taking some shots (dun sa store bago ako mgbayad), i noticed nagkaroon ng maliit na dust spot, hindi maalis ng built in dust cleaning. Sinabi ko dun sa tindera pero hindi nya makita, basta ako nakikita ko (ocd ma’am luisa!) Pinapalitan ko agad, uminit pa ulo ni mang ramon, wag na daw ako bumili sa kanya. Pero in the end, pinacheck din nya isa pang stock, nakapasa naman sa pgiging ocd ko so i bought it at snamahan pa ng screen protector. Ngayon, my d60 goes with me anywhere i go.

we went to Hidalgo on July 4 (saturday), Mang Ramon was very accomodating. too bad cdsc d60 is out of stock. he said tht itll be available most probably in oct. he qouted 28500 for grey unit though (32k for cdsc). at D24k, cdsc d60 is also out of stock but they qouted 30k for the price. 28500 for grey. will try to call once a week for follow up.

Hey Brod ako yung nakabili ng 55-200 VR lens ng 7k although 1 yr na siya ok pa nmn kasi maayos at walang gasgas at swak sa D60 ko! i also have unit for delivery and w8 ko maybe by the end of this month daw dumating kasi umorder ako ng battery grip for 4k and 2x teleconverter for 3.5k kahit generic basta meron magamit! sa sulit ko yung mga nakita at dami pa doon if u want makamura ng mga kailangan ninyo jaz make sure kung bibili kayo test muna at sa tawad!

no, it’s not that really big deal or important, it’s just a matter of tight budget and OC’s (obsessive compulsive) for some CDSC freaks (like me) we just want the real deal (original kumbaga), for some who want to buy and did actually bought a grey unit, it’s just a closed tight budget, para my pamasahe pa pauwi. so it’s up to you kiddo. grey units are fine just test it before you handover you’re precious savings.

I have ocd just like ma’am luisa (musta na po ma’am), but i chose grey unit. Quite happy with it, no problem at all. Follow her advice, check the unit first. Cdsc unit is not superior to grey unit, pareho lang yan. Pero pag nasira and it needs repair or cleaning, pag dating sa warranty, then panalo ang cdsc unit hands up.

if you want a cheaper macro… just buy a reverse lens ring or a 12,20,36 extension tube.. its like shooting in a macro lens also but its much more cheaper.. i think its around 1K.. those are the advices that i always get from other photographer..

yung mga mejo murang cdsc unit sa hidalgo. out of stock pa. sa 24k pnkamura. every week ako 2mtawag pero wala p sla stock. sa mayers sabi mga oct p sla mgkkaron. ang qoute sa 24k, un d60 ay 30k kit na sya… kung grey units sa hdalgo. mrami. pero. dun kna sa sure bet esp sa mga newbies.

@ edward, wow thanks. umiral lang kc pagka oc-oc ko. since first dslr ko bblhin ko nghahantay tlg ako ng cdsc unit esp 2k diff approx lang vs grey. chinek ko nga specs ng d3000 sa nikon site. mas ok paren un sa d60. mas mrami lng scene selections and 3 focus pts un sa d3000. balitaan mo nmn ako pag tinopak yang d60 grey unit mo. plan ko antay2 nlng til january. as per mang ramon mganda bmli ng cams pg january – mar. mas mura / mrmi freebies.

Brod sa totoo lang The Nikon D60 is a replacement for the almost identical D40x. The Nikon D60 is a “sucker” camera sold mostly to people who are not professional photographers, but who are impressed by meaningless megapixels. Megapixels have nothing to do with picture quality. The less expensive D40 is the same thing as the D60, but better. The D40 is the professional’s vacation camera. The D60 is just a D40 with more pixels, but slower shutter speeds with flash outdoors and less basic light sensitivity due to the smaller pixels needed to jam more of them onto the same-sized sensor.
But i had my D60. kasi d rin ako professional at beginner din lang pero kung gusto mo makatipid di sa D40 kn lang. But most of us here are D60 users!

Not really sure bro but have you ever tried going to hidalgo? I think there are service centers there as well.
Bout the charger, I think you can find second hand items for that if you really need it badly. You might want to ask on the stores @ hidalgo as well.

Nikon d90 is better in lower price compare to D300, D3000, D5000.
Just like Nikon D40 for D60. D40 is the same as D60 at lower price.
The Nikon D300 was Nikon’s most popular camera with serious amateur photographers in 2008, however the D90 just came out in Fall 2008 and works better for less money and less weight.
The technical image quality of the D90 is indistinguishable from the D300 for color, sharpness, and noise.
The D300 is over a year older than the D90, and in digital camera years, that’s equivalent to being 25 years older.
