No Smoking in all Starbucks branches in the Philippines starting June 27

Rustan Coffee Corporation (RCC), the operator of Starbucks in the Philippines, has decided to comply with the no-smoking campaign of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

All previously designated smoking outdoor areas of all Starbucks branches will be converted into non-smoking zones beginning June 27, 2011. So what this means is that you cannot smoke at any Starbucks branch whether inside or outside. They will also start putting up signages to remind their customers of the new policy.

    uu nga pansin ko rin ng yuppies at richies na smoker ang tumatambay sa starbucks. pero ok na rin para kapag pumupunta ako at mag coffe break sa SB, hindi ako makakaamoy ng cigar. i really hate the smell – yung tipong katatapos lang mag-sex ng isang kargador sa isang mainit na kwarto yung smell…hindi ko talaga matake. saka taasan ang ang tax sa cigar at sana dumating ang panahon na ang mga tobacoo fields ay tintaniman na lang ng palay or mais or mga gulay para sa pagkain ng mga tao! keep it up!

    dapat subsidize ng gobyerno tobacco industry..

    @darko.. fyi mas malaki ang cost ng medication program ng government with regards to illness na nakukuha sa cigar products kisa sa taxes or sin tax na nakukuha sa cigar industry thats why tinatry ng government na e ban na ang cigar products..
