Noelle Wenceslao – first ASEAN woman to reach Everest summit
ABS-CBN reported that Noelle Wenceslao was the first to reach the summit at 8:10 am (Manila time) yesterday, followed by Carina Dayundon at 8:20 am, while Janet Belarmino came in at 11 am.

The three women had to deal with altitude sickness that could progress to pulmonary edema but it seems that it’s all worth it after they’ve achieved this historic feat. Last May of 2006, Leo Oracion, Pastor Emata, and Romi Garduce also reached the Everest summit and became the first Filipino to reached the summit of the highest mountain on earth.
