Nokia 5800 in the Philippines
Nokia recently announced the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music (code-named “Tube”), a slim touch-screen phone that looks like the iPhone but Nokia is quick to dismiss the iPhone comparisons.

Users are also given one year (after initial purchase) of unlimited download of songs from Nokia’s Music Store using the company’s new Comes With Music service.
It is set to sell in Europe for 279 Euros (17,781.91 or about 18,000 pesos or more once it arrives in the Philippines).

Only 18,000 pesos? I wish the Philippine pricing is just as simple as converting the foreign currency to our local money. It does not happen that way in most cases.
For instance the iPhone 3G, I wondered how Globe arrived at a P 35K price.

meron bang naka Vertu sa inyo?? that phone costs $7,000 and go high up to $350,000 depending on how many diamonds are embedded. Nokia is cheap, pang dirt-poor lang! iphone are for hippies who think they’re rich but happen to be trying hard xerox machines!

Nokia is still dirt cheap! the high end is Vertu, so why not go for the high end? cheap manilenos and probinsiyanos all you could afford is the peasant version of vertu!

hmmmmm.,i was about to canvas this Nokia5800 here in saudi arabia from time to time, surprisingly its price getting cheaper and cheaper from 1,700 riyal (equivalent to 21,000+php) to 1,100riyal (13,500+)it makes me happy coz thz days i will get one for my bro b4 i goin back to RP this june..(i prefer to buy the N97 i gues it will be release soon,hve 28 for tht)

i think all 5800 in the philippines came from china .. not sure pero most siguro rare lng un made in finland .. anyways i think hindi po sya madaling masira .. mine is still in good shape .. bought it last month i think ..

Ke ano pa yan, iphone..vertu..whatever..made in china..made in mars..nasa tao lang po un..kung san kau masaya dun kau..mahalaga nacocontact at nakaka communicate..kakainis kasi minsan ang Pinoy (no offense meant ha) sukatan ng yaman sa cellphone lang eh..para bang mababwasan ang pagkatao pag cheap ang cellphone..ok lang bumili ng mamahalin kung pinagpaguran mo naman..kung di naman feel ang 1st class cp at ano lang nakayanan ng budget ok lang din un…mahalaga ang quality..Agree?!

Mine is made from Hungary,, all 5800 from Europe is made from hungary even if you buy it in Finland.. My bro kasi works at Nokia Finland,, bought me 5800 from finland (may discount kasi xa pero mas expensive doon around 300 euros). im loving it, i had experienced with Iphone but 5800 rocks.,. nothing compares..
When you text parang may vibration (tawag nila doon hap text, i dont know if this is the correct spelling), it feels like texting with a real keypad.. im loving it…

Kris your wasting your time screaming aroung with your vertu. aanhin mo ba ang dyamante kapag nagtetext at nakikinig ng music? di mu kailangan yan marami matalino tao dito ang hanap functions na makakatulong sa kanila saka maaliw sila hindi puro display lang. Ang ibig ko sabihin yung may pakinabang sa buhay mo kailangan mo hindi dyamante matititigan mo lang tapus pag sinuot mo eh baka di pa bumagay sayu! Kaya pag bibili kayo ng phone sa function kayo tumingin sa mga kaya niya gawin hindi un presyo sinasabi nyo. marami mahal jan pero daig ng mura.
