Nokia 5800 in the Philippines

Nokia recently announced the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music (code-named “Tube”), a slim touch-screen phone that looks like the iPhone but Nokia is quick to dismiss the iPhone comparisons.

Users are also given one year (after initial purchase) of unlimited download of songs from Nokia’s Music Store using the company’s new Comes With Music service.

It is set to sell in Europe for 279 Euros (17,781.91 or about 18,000 pesos or more once it arrives in the Philippines).

    ay lav it. kaso sana nilagyan nlang din nila ng Xenon flash at ginawang 5 MP ang camera. 3.2 pa rin to, para lang din N93i ko.

    Only 18,000 pesos? I wish the Philippine pricing is just as simple as converting the foreign currency to our local money. It does not happen that way in most cases.

    For instance the iPhone 3G, I wondered how Globe arrived at a P 35K price.

    meron bang naka Vertu sa inyo?? that phone costs $7,000 and go high up to $350,000 depending on how many diamonds are embedded. Nokia is cheap, pang dirt-poor lang! iphone are for hippies who think they’re rich but happen to be trying hard xerox machines!

    Nokia is still dirt cheap! the high end is Vertu, so why not go for the high end? cheap manilenos and probinsiyanos all you could afford is the peasant version of vertu!
