October 31 2011 Holiday – Philippines

It's only fair to share...Share on FacebookTweet about this on Twitter

President Noynoy Aquino has just issued Proclamation 265 declaring October 31, 2011 a special non-working day or holiday, which means it’s going to be a long weekend (Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday).

The proclamation was made to give people opportunity to properly observe “Undas” or “Araw ng mga Patay” (November 1), which invariably requires them to travel to and from different regions in the Philippines. Those who decide to work on the holidays are reportedly entitled to 200% (double pay) of their basic wages.
