18-year-old Marie Dhel “Bambee” de la Paz was reportedly sued for libel by Nasser Pangandaman Jr., who is the mayor of Masiu, Lanao del Sur over her blog entry about the mauling incident at Valley Golf and Country Club, Antipolo City last December 26.

The mayor’s lawyer, Ted Pastrana said Bambee was sued for libel for the defamatory and malicious articles which she had written in her blog Vicissitude. The blog’s contents had triggered angry responses against the Pangandamans from bloggers nationwide.

Pangandaman said the one-sided accounts of the incident in the news and on the Internet that favored the De la Paz family have already tarnished their reputation.

The mayor is not seeking any compensation from Bambee because the case is criminal in nature, Pastrana added.
