The Philippine Quill Awards 2008 was held last November 14, at the Hyatt Hotel and Casino in Manila.

The annual event is organized by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), an international resource of effective communication practice, which recognizes the most outstanding achievements in communications management, skills, and creative and has become the industry benchmark for world-class PR programs and productions.

ABS-CBN bagged five awards — their PR programs for Deal or No Deal Around the World-Philippines and their special event Dolphy at 80 earned recognition, “Kapamilya Services” bagged an Award of Excellence in the Employee/Member Communication category, the company’s newsletter E-Frequency got an award in the Electronic Communication category, and ABS-CBN Foundation’s advocacy project E-TV in the Economic, Social and Environmental Development category.

GMA Network on the other hand got two merit awards — one for “Christmas Shorts” in the Advertising category and another for “Seeding the Future: The 2007 GMA Network Annual Report” in the Publication category.
