The logo of Philippines’ new tourism campaign, “Pilipinas Kay Ganda” was allegedly copied from Poland’s own tourism campaign, Polska.
The accusation is making rounds on various social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. The two logos have a striking similarity, from the font, the colors, and even the use of a tree. Meanwhile, the advertising company, which handled the branding of President Aquino during the May 2010 presidential campaign confirmed it had a role in the new “Pilipinas Kay Ganda” tourism brand of the Department of Tourism but “only in an advisory capacity,” said its Chairperson Yolly Ong. Tourism Secretary Alberto Lim on the other hand reportedly said, “There are similarities, pero sa pagkakaalam ko sa atin mas makulay.”
