Poll: Pinoy Idol versus Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2
GMA Network’s Pinoy Idol has a head start over rival Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 of ABS-CBN since it started earlier while PDA 2’s opening night will be on June 14.
But which one is the better show and which one will you watch? Pinoy Idol is hosted by Raymond Gutierrez and the judges are Ogie Alcasid, Wyngard Tracy, and Jolina Magdangal. Pinoy Dream Academy season 2 on the other hand, is hosted by Billy Crawford, Toni Gonzaga, and Nikki Gil. PDA’s new headmaster is Ryan Cayabyab with mentors Joey Reyes, Kitchy Molina, and Monet Silvestre. We need your opinion and comments on this one.

ever since am not after ratings, am more into quality of the show, it’s wholesomeness, and lessons taught…and credibility of the network…all of these ABS-CBN NEVER FAILED to give us all of these…GMA sad to say, and too desperate to beat ABS ever since, and in order to topple ABS, has done all and beyond limits to cheat the ratings at all costs . not impossible though, anyway, i bet television sets without the AGB meter is far plentiful than those with…? thank you ABS-CBN ! you’re just unbeatable. No doubt I go for PDA not just because the talent they were build but they made contestant to have own profit in music industry, ika nga paglabas may nabago na sa kanila, and not only that they also give chance to proof what they can do inside the academy, like being a song writer or in other fields plus, we also know the real character of scholars once they entered the academy unlike PI that they have to have camera to confirm the tensions between other contestants inside the hotels they were rent.
In addition, PDA has so many form of entertainment to indulge us they give to as the real essence of an artist and a reality on how to become a part of music industry. Besides that ABS-CBN has passion in building new talents.
This is totally entertainment. The Entertainment that has in one package, i can’t wait to see this on Monday, although nag-umpisa na siya nung monday pa for elimination still there’s something that we can’t wait to watch and that is on saturday the entering of scholars and the start of the class.
Among of them who do you think will always be under provision, scholar of the week texter’s choice, the scholar who can save by mentors, most friendly scholar and the next to the PDA’s hall of fame.

May i know why you choose Pinoy Idol? i’m not one sided i also attack ABS-CBN if their program makes me ill. the only thing that i admire in GMA is their News, Fantaserye of GMA makes me bored sometimes they add character in the story just to extend their program….. for god sake,,,, sana di ganun if they invest on fantasy series they should have HD performance in making programming. one thing that i worried about GMA is professionalisms in fields of making novela, they look after market competition and not original concept, if what they heard from their source about upcoming programs of ABS-CBN, they immediately set a meeting, what kind of insecurities this network has. Ganun ba yun kailangan tapatan nila?
Being one sided, it will not help you to become a good critic, hope you learned from it

ang galing ng pda. PDA is very creative especially when you hear their theme “awit ng pangarap” di katulad ng pinoy idol wla kwenta! ginagaya pa ngayon ng idol yung in-house concept ng PDA pero wala rin , walang meaning.
desperado na ang idol in copying ideas from PDA, sinisira nila nag identity ng idol franchise. unlike PDA it is living up the expextations of endemol.
ang galing ng first episodes nila wherein teachers kitchi molina(of UP), Monet, Joey, Maestro and a representative from endemol give in-depth analysis of each scholars. d katulad sa idol wala puro mababaw na komento from what ? a talent manager simon cowell copycat? a paulo abdul wanabee syphatetic?or a another randy jackson wannabe? cmon gma stop the show!

Mas gusto ko talaga ang format ng Idol dahil mas straightforward ito compared sa Dream Academy. Walang paewan-ewan at kantahan na agad. Pero dahil ibabase ko sa production, quality, etc ang aking judgment.. masasabi ko na mas maganda DI HAMAK ang PDA Season 2. Masyadong TH ang dating ng Pinoy Idol at average lang ang kanilang mga contestants. Yung tipong wala kang aabangan talaga? Tsaka in the first place, di nila dapat iniba yung pangalan ng show dahil walang formality ang dating ng “PINOY IDOL”. Like duH?

sinira ng gme ang franchise ng american idol. the judges have no credibility at all and marami na tayo naririnig in different forums even in their lowclass forum somewhere over there na mapapatunayan na wala talaga. tracy, ginawa lng na outlet ang idolings sa frustrated career nya hehe. c jolings play sfae sa comment para hindi matira paglabas ng studio. si alcasid, kumanta nalng sya.

Nagulat ako. Ang laki ng agwat. Yung isang poll kasi na nadaanan ko kanina pinoy idol ang lamang. Haha.
PDA ako siyempre. Maganda kasi ang concept. Guided talaga ang mga scholars ng mga credible people.
Disagree lang ako dun sa sinasabi ng iba sa ibang forum na mahilig daw mamirata ng talent ang PDA dahil isa si Miguel sa nakapasok na scholar. Kasalanan ba ng PDA kung mag-audition sa kanila ang mga naging contestants ng ibang contest dati?

to all pinoy idol fans! defend nio nmn ung PI, gusto naming malaman, kung bakit ang pangit panget ng show nio! ang tamlay tamlay, kaantok. ung set nio, pakiayos naman… ung sound system din.. hay…bongo p mga judges.. ang puro comments, “ala kang ipinakitang bago!”, “kulang sa performance”, kababaw… paulit ulit… ala clang judge na related tlga at nagtuturo talaga ng music, mga chipipay na singers lang at isang trying hard na simon na ala nmng alam sa pagkanta… lagyan nio naman ng kabuluhan ang mga cnasabi nio.. ala akong makitang halaga sa mga comments nio. tae ang pinoy idol, taeng lusaw.

the two shows seemed to be good but there is always better if we try to compare the two. i think that it will be the PDA which is better kasi naman… parang nakakaboring yung host nila. i don’t think that he can do better than that of the energy by those hosts of PDA. sayang… bumaba ang quality ng idol….

Pinoy Dream Academy syempre ang the best…dun natin maki2ta ung 22ong talent ng isang tao at dinedevelop pa…and mas maganda ung approach nung pagtuturo sa knila…sa pinoy idol boring…boring maghost si raymond…and i think jolina magdangal doesnt deserve to be one of the judges…wala pa syang K…Bsta PDA is the best among the rest…and Yeng Constantino Rocks!

to tsk.tsk: i don’t mean nman na sriling concept as in sarili tlaga alam ko na franchised show lang ang PDA what i mean are the twists of the shows and other things gaya kung how nila ipresent ang PDA before filipino audiences…ang PINOY IDOL kasi sobrang ginaya kahit iyong mga maliit na detalye ginaya nila sa AMERICAN IDOL iyon ang point ko…..
Anyways whats important is that we are all kapamilya and we support PDA and all KAPAMILYA SHOWS…hehehehe

PDA ako…
pero, mga backbiters most of them sa pda… gusto ko si cris, talent-wise and physically… anyways, interesting ung clash of personalities nila, plus their talent.
sa PI, paulit ulit mga sinasabi… “may kulang”, “may something”, “hindi bago”, “comfort zone”, “wrong choice of song”, mga walang kwentang judges…
i just watch both of them, nae-entertain naman ako pareho. pero PDA is better.

im pang 817 voters…wala talaga ang PI ano ba ibig sabihin ng PI Programang Inaantok …lol lol….while PDA Programang Di Aantukin..kasi ang galing gumawa ng show ang ABS CBN…talo na nga ang GAM sige parin..at bakit sa rationg talo ang PDA ..nadaya na naman..eh sa votes walangbinatbat ang PI

My mom always watch PDA even though di sya marunong sa mga music music na yan. and everytime na may time ako to watch, I watch it din.. it is interesting.. and I don’t think I will ever watch Pinoy Idol. just the title makes me cringe.

I would like to give a non-biased opinion, basically i’m not a kapuso or kapamilya. I just watch because i find a show entertaining.
In comparison…
Voice wise i think pinoy idol has more singers who have great voices, now what went wrong? Like what others have mentioned their judges are awful, like they dunno what they’re doin. Take jolina for example she can only give so-so comments and appears to wait what her fellow judges would say so she’d know if she’s on the same boat. Wyngard on the other hand, is a bad impersonator of Simon Cowell. Evenmore the hosts and production are very poor.
PDA on the other hand may not have an instant bigtime singer but the show is an academy thing honing potential great singers in the future. And i guess that’s what makes the show a hit coz audience wanna see more from these hopefuls if they would be improving with the academy’s help. Add to the fact that they have commendable judges (except lea’s brother in my opinion i dunno what’s his problem) and the hosts as well are good at what they’re doing (except billy i think he’s most of the time in search for words to say and the fact that he’s not fluent in Tagalog). That’s all for me.
Peace out don’t be mad if pda wins over this poll, the people who voted have their own reasons. ^_^

The kiddie contestants of PDA are far more better than the contestants sa PI and much better than Jolina. harharhar.
I watched PI episode where they sang Regine Velasquez songs, pusyia ang papangit ng arrangement. True enough, wlang credibility mga resident judges all they can say is “ok”, “your best performance”….. they can’t even note anything on how the contestant delivered their song. Buti pa si regine, she can say when the singer delivered the song flat. They are trying hard to look like the american idol style of judging, si wyngard dapat guard lang ang posisyon nya. Napaka walang kwenta.
I can still remember this video sa youtube…. Dito mo makikita ang inconsistency ng mga judges lalo na si Jolina. The blind girl can actually sing much better than all the other contestants in PI and much better than Jolina. If di gumana yung website address open nyo then type nyo blind pinoy idol.

este, talagang magaling ang mga acadremians than the idols…… sa PI boring ang host tpoz ang mga judges ay hindi bagay mag taray….. at isa pa, mentors palang sa PDA talbog nah ang judges ng PI….. hehehehe….. to think that Jolina is not a technical singer?????/ diba……. alam naman natin na sumikat sya dahil sa kanyang pag ka kengkoy at hindi sa kanyang kagalingan kumanta…… and to have mr. c being a mentor in PDA is not a joke…….. that’s the truth….

Pinoy Dream Academy2 is very much ahead than Pinoy Idol of Gma7,especially if you compare the two shows.Pinoy Idol does’nt have those judges who are well respaected in music industry,you can’t compare them to these judges that gma7 using for their contest,they are not credible to be seating in that contest.What Jolina Magdangal.Ogie Alcasid & Wingard doing there?Yeah Ogie & Jolina can sing,but are they qualified for judging?Of course not,singers & judges are different,Ryan Cayabyab,Gerard Salonga etc, are the best person to seat in that position.
Kaya pansinin ninyo ang laki ng agwat ng mga viewers ng dalawang shows na iyan,Pinoy Idol 12 percent lang ang viewers nyo samantalang 79 percent ng Pinoy dream,kasi nga palpak ang mga judges ninyo.
Hosting ninyo palpak din ano ang ginagawa Raymong sa show nyo palamuti lang?Pinipilit na gawing host ng GMA7 na trying hard lang talaga,how could you compare this guy to Nikki Gil or Tony Gonzaga and the past host of ABS-CBN2.Isa pa bakit hindi nyo dagdagan ng exposures sila ni nga sila kilala hanggnag ngayong ng mga tao sa Pilipinas dahil bihira lang silang makita sa ere,unlike Pinoy Dream…………12:00 PM in Studio 23,Abs-cbn2,abs-cbn3,abs-cbn46,abs-cbn32, kaya malaki ang agwat nila sa exposure.

First of all dito talaga sa DAVAO CITY nangunguna ang pda… grabeh to the highest level pag katapus ng isang episode kwentuhan agad ganyan ka tindi ang pda… Napansin ko lang kasi diba may idol na dati sa abc 5 nga lang. But why GMA,they are trying to display na unang idol sa pinas ang pinoy idol diba eh may nauna na nga….For short karma sila kasi alam nyo ba di nila kinilala yung first winner na si mau marcelo.Eh kong titignan natin walang binatbat ang pinoy idol kay mau….PDA2 simply the best…gogogogogo
